TERROR CELLS IN AZERBAIJAN REMAINS BIG THREAT TO MOSCOW

The News office Desk of the E.N.M.Paedia Express Multimedia Group of Lagos,Nigeria can now say that lots of terror cells in nearby Azerbaijan in Europe continues to be a major threat to the Authority of Russian President :Vladmir Putin.

In a chat with this reporter recently in Lagos,Nigeria,an impeccable source has said that the last two terrorist attacks on Russian soil was traceable to wolfs in Azerbaijan,one of the breakaway Russian Republics of the Soviet Union era.

He explained that though Russia in itself thus have some level of muslim population but that they were not as significant in numbers like those to be found in a place like Azerbaijan and outside of it.

The source also pointed out at the painstaking security measures put in place by the Putin regime which has helped to curb the activities of terrorists in Russia.

According to him,since the terror cells in Azerbaijan do not strike always like those in Mainland and Central Europe ,their activities could usually take years of planning before it comes to fruitful level.

The source noted that since President Putin himself was an intelligence expert ,he knew enough tactics on how to deal with terrorists if they exist in Russia .

The source also added that the recent Tower fires in Moscow ,Russia of Ostankino Towers had also led a lot of public affairs commentators to believe that perhaps the enemy may have device new techniques to hit at the heart of Russia instead of the usage of direct gun battle between two forces .

Russia scored high marks in terms of security at the just  concluded F.I.F.A World Cup as it left sweet memories  in the hearts of fans globally as there were no  bad incidents to note during the sporting fiesta.

AIR KIRIBATI IN HISTORY

Air Kiribati Limited is the national airline of Kiribati operating passenger services within the Gilbert Islands of Kiribati, and to Fiji. It also operates charters, medical evacuation and search and rescue services. Its main base is Bonriki International Airport, Tarawa Atoll.^[1]

Until 2008, it was the only airline to operate Kiribati domestic routes. In January, 2009, a new airline was established, Coral Sun Airways, that also flies to all of the Gilbert Islands.

History[edit]

The airline was established and started operations on 1 April 1995, after the collapse of the previous national airline Air Tungaru, which had been formed on 31 October 1977. In March 2004, Air Kiribati ended its international operations. It is owned 100% by the government of Kiribati.^{[citation needed]} In 2017, the Airline is to take ownership of a Dash 8 100 series to undertake domestic and short haul international services.

Destinations[edit]

Air Kiribati operates domestic flights linking all the Gilbert Islands. The Line Islands and Phoenix Islands, with 41,000 and 8,809 inhabitants, respectively are too far from the Gilbert Islands to be considered commercially viable to serve these from Tarawa although Air Kiribati's only rival airline, domestic Coral Sun Airways, was examining the purchase of a new aircraft capable of flying Tarawa-Kiritimati. It is possible to fly Tarawa to Kiritimati, but only via Fiji. Kiritimati, Line Islands, was served, until 2004, by Aloha Airlines from Honolulu on behalf of Air Kiribati until Aloha went out of business. From 4 October 2005, a new service was commenced by Air Pacific, now Fiji Airways, every Tuesday, from Honolulu, with 24 places chartered on each flight by Air Kiribati. In 2008 this service was suspended because of deterioration of the surface of the Kiritimati runway, which had been deemed unsafe after an inspection by Air Pacific personnel and specialist runway engineers; service resumed on 25 May 2010.^[2] During the suspension an American company, Te Mauri Travel, offered "interim" charter flights to Kiritimati. Kiritimati is now served regularly by a weekly Fiji Airways return service from Nadi-Kiritimati-Honolulu.

From November 2009, Air Kiribati runs a service between Tarawa and Nadi, Fiji, using an aircraft and crew of Our Airline.

Flight diversions can also be arranged when required. Medevac and SAR are always considered priority.^{[citation needed]}

Fleet[edit]

The Air Kiribati fleet consists of the following aircraft (at April 2018):^[3]

·         1 Bombardier Dash 8

·         1 De Havilland DHC6-300 Twin Otter^[4]

·         3 Harbin Y-12 IV

In December 2007, the Kiribati Government approved a request by Air Kiribati to purchase two Canadian made Twin Otter aircraft.^[5] Each plane is reported to cost USD 3.3 million, but Air Kiribati's CEO Baraniko Baaro reports the purchase is a wise move which will save money currently used for the frequent repairs the aging air fleet requires. In addition, the new planes boast higher fuel efficiency, have room for more passengers and cargo and require less runway length than the current fleet, which may be of benefit on the airstrips of Kiribati's outer islands.^[6]

Air Kiribati has received its first new Dash 8 100 series aircraft which touched down at Bonriki International Airport from Canada on 31 October 2017 With 37 passenger seats, the aircraft is pressurised and will have inflight cabin service. Tarataake Teannaki(CEO) said the arrival of the Dash 8 aircraft will solve all the flight concerns of the people in the Southern Gilbert Islands through its main flight hub in Tabiteuea North. The Dash 8 is expected to fly to Tabiteuea North, pick up passengers from the Southern Gilbert Islands who will be flown to Tabiteuea North via Air Kiribati’s smaller aircraft stationed on the island to pick passengers from the Southern Gilberts and vice versa.Teannaki said the only four outer islands where the Dash 8 aircraft can land are Tabiteuea North, Abemama, Butaritari and Nikunau. The aircraft will also make international flights to neighbouring Marshall Islands and Tuvalu.

"Kiribati inspires Americans to take action"

In the National Association of Letter Carriers hall of Cincinnati Ohio, roughly 40 people gathered to write letters to detainees held in detention centers across the USA. In recent years, there have been cases of detained I-Kiribati in the USA, and tonight's event was inspired by one of those strong and courageous detainees. Tired, scared, and lonely; the nights in jail can be the worst of times for detained individuals. Letters have the power to change all of that. They connect individuals with others who show care, compassion and comfort for what they are going through. Tonight, 39 volunteers gathered to listen to stories from inside one US detention center and write letters of hope, support, and encouragement to those behind it's walls.

"I-Kiribati workers receive further awards on Hamilton Island"

Three more I-Kiribati workers from Hamilton Island have received Silver Eminence Awards.

Tibeta Tekaia, Beenina Enoka and Ribwaiti Bwebwenratu were the recipients of this prestigious award, which is given to employees who exemplify the company’s values of leadership, excellence, team work and customers.

Tekaia, Enoka and Bwebwenratu makes a total of 12 Silver Eminence Awards (and 2 Gold Awards) received by Kiribati workers in 2018.

The three recent awardees, along with 29 other I-Kiribati on Hamilton Island are working in Australia under multi-year visas of up to 3 years as part of the Pacific Labour Scheme.

FROM KIRIBATI WITH LOVE

A Simple Little Love Story"

I was married before, he said as his eyes crossed mine. The sun setting over the lazy blue lagoon. Kids running by, laughing joyfully, as they crossed the secluded hotel's compound.

I had two children from my previous marriage, pointing at two of the young boys running across the compound. Those are them, they mean everything to me. I met Tinaai through a mutual friend. She would bring guests to the hotel and work with them. She was so good to them, and great with the children who came. That's what attracted me to her. We dated in secret for one year. Few people knew.

I liked him, Tinaai chimes in, we were friends. I got to know him, and I liked how mature he was. How kind he was, and his ambition to make things happen for many people. He is a very smart person, and does a lot to help his community and country on many levels. That is what I find really impressive and inspiring about him.

Kaboua is the owner and operator of Terau Beach Bungalow. Tinaai, his partner on so many levels, is a former international youth spokesperson for the nation and climate change activist. This year, they welcomed their daughter, Abakura (Apakula) to the world.

For the both of them, love has already had so many ups and we wish them nothing but the best for their future together.

Culturally, Kiribati children are at the heart of Kiribati society. From baptisms, to first birthdays, to first days of school to graduations; children provide families with so much to celebrate. So, what do children love about Kiribati? Several children offered their opinions of what they loved about Kiribati.

I love the sea.
I love the Fish.
I love my people, we are very friendly.
I love playing soccer with my friends.
I love learning to weave from my mom and aunties.
I love cutting toddy (coconut palm sap).
I love riding my bike with friends in the village.

While we may not have a lot of things, we seem to have everything we need.
