Facts now available to the News Office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia as at press time suggests that the one week period during which a section of the Burkinabe MILITARY ,The Presidential Guards took control of power  was not a walk in the park a the nation was really tensed up.

In an exclusive interview with this reporter in his office in Lagos,The Program Associate of the International Press Center ,Mr Sanmi Falobi who was in that country while the crisis lasted said it was the night he actually planned to move around town due to his tight schedules that the plotters struck.

He noted that the incident actually caught a lot of them unawares as they were been hosted by the nation’s interim Head of Parliament and a member of the transitional government who is aa trained journalist and an activist as well.

His words”The People  were angry at  the coup plotters,the background to the issue is that sometimes last year Campaore was eased out and so the people could not imagine having a Campaore stooge in office”

“Sankara was and still remains thei hero even in death ,he can be likened to Muritala Mohammed of Nigeria”

“we saw the soldiers moving around ,the people who took over the government were the members of the Presidential Guards “

”They were not more than 1,300 strong men but they were highly sophisticated and well armed and have been in charge since the days of Blaise Campaore”

“interestingly, it was this same unit that threatened Camapore prior to his departure from office”

“the people on the strets in Burkina Faso ,ECOWAS,members of the regular soldiers all combined to put pressure on the presidential guards”

Mr Falobi explained that when he heard that there had been an arrest of the nation’s Acting President ,he initially thought that it was some kind of joke taken too far but he and  the other media captains attending an international conference taking place about the time in Ouagadougou had to accept the eventuality when the strted to hear of sporadic gun shots not far away from where they were being hosted as riots broke out in the deadly melee that started leading to the death of at least 11 people .

He affirmed that at the moment there was a crackdown on the coup plotters by the transition government  who are now preparing the nation for a general election soon.

He pointed out that presently The Presidential Guards of Burkina Faso has being disbanded with the assets of some of the key actors in the recent coup frozen while some of the officers  have been retired as a couple of the soldiers were now expected to be drafted to the Army of Burkina Faso.

According to him ,The Presidential Guards struck because of the fear that once disbanded they will become irrelevant adding quickly that there was no form of external influence upon them at all.

He added that he does not have the details of efforts been made  to get Former Blaise Camapore deported from Morocco to face criminal charges.

Latest reports as at press times shows that the very powerful Presidential Guards has resfued to disarm as fresh crisis looms over who controls the leadership in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
