BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU.
When Paedia Express Multimedia ‘s team arrived in Okene in Kogi State at around four P.M. on the 21st of January,2016 ,stench of decay in various facets of life was written boldly on the faces of the people.
The people looked sad as they recounted tales of woes suffered at the hands of Captain Idris Wada ‘s led administration in the last four years aside from another eight years of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris ‘s maladministration .
This reporter was told of how family members died, couples separated or divorced due to the worsening socio-economic conditions of the people which resulted into abject poverty.
The long stretch of road between Okene to ihima which cuts into such villages like   Obehira, Okengwen, Adavi Eba ,Ikuehi, Obeiba,Oboroke were filled with pot holes .
There was no signs of any pipe borne water and to now make matters worse it was discovered that even most of the wells built by the Natives Authorities during the colonial regime had dried aside from wells built by the people in their private homes most of whom were drying up.
An official of the state judiciary who spoke to this reporter under anonymity said he had not been paid since September,2015,a sentiment echoed by other civil servants spoken to by Paedia Express Multimedia editorial team on ground for the recently held inauguration of the newly elected governor of the state,Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
In a world exclusive investigations by the News Office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos, Nigeria  ,it was discovered that Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ,the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress [A.P.C] spent an eye popping N4billion to woo Kogi state voters to vote for his choice candidates in the 2015 Governorship elections in which Prince Abubakar Audu lost his life after shooting to an early lead.
A source while discussing with this reporter on the amount spent on the polls wondered why this reporter was shocked when the news was everywhere  in Kogi state that Tinubu gave Audu N4Billion  for the elections.
She speaks:”Alhaji Yahaya Bello had gone to have a private meeting with Late Audu who had invited him to his private home in Ogbonicha ,after he had gone past the 1st,2nd and 3rd living rooms with no chairs except the rug on the floor, he suddenly picked up his mobile phone to call Late Audu as he could not just go into the final living room like that”
“Audu then told him in confidence that he will hand over to Ebira people after his tenure and that he should support his quest to be Governor,he also said that he did not have much money to prosecute the elections as he would have loved  and this was what informed his decisions to accept an olive branch of  a sum of N4billion given to him by Tinubu aside from the latter making him to agree to pick James Abiodun Faleke as his running mate”
“immediately, Tinubu had that Audu was dead he was said to have almost ran mad as it was like throwing money into the bush as he kept shouting that he had lost money terribly”
“You mean you have not heard of the N4Billion ,well, you must be the only one who does not know  or may be it is because you are in Lagos and due to brown envelopes you know your people will not want to write about it but there is no serious person in kogi state who is not aware of the deal”
In a related issue,a former Deputy Governor  of the state and candidate of the Labour party in the just concluded Governorship elections in which he finished a distant third ,Chief Phillips Salawu has come up for critiscms from the natives of Ebira land.
They wondered how a man who only helps himself alone could expect them to vote him into office as Governor of the state when the rough came  to the shod.
A source revealed to this reporter that Chief Salawu only won in his Ohueta ,IKuehi ,Ihima ward in the entire state ,bagging a paltry 8,000 votes in the process.
The source affirmed that there was a palpable air of disagreement within the Salawu family during the last elections as a sibling of the former Deputy Governor ,Mr John Salawu who ran for a ticket under the Peoples Democratic Party [P.D.P] for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives  came under a heavy barrage of pressure from his elder brother ,Phillips who wanted him to step down for reasons best known to the latter.
According to the source,Mr John Salawu was said to have been so furious at the suggestions that he refused to show deep interests in his elder brother’s aspirations in the 2015 governorship elections.
This reporter was also reliably informed that while the A.P.C gave out a sum of N5,000 each to voters during the governorship polls to woo voters,P.D.P   paid out a sum N3,000 each with sources  now wondering how Governor Idris Wada who could not afford to pay workers salaries now woo voters with cash
