The fight for who controls the seat of power in Kogi state ,The Lord Lugard House is getting very deadly.

As at press time,the entire nation was thrown into confusion and in mourning as one of Nigeria’s most colorful politician  and himself:a former Governor of the state,Prince Abubakar Audu was declared dead via a heart attack..

He had suddenly taken ill mysteriously some few hours to the polls while citing stomach complains as doctors battled to stabilize him even on the day of the polls.

It would appear that Prince Audu ‘s trip to an untimely grave started the moment The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC]declared an election he was very  confident of winning inconclusive.

For a man that had always accused INEC of ganging up with the opposition to steal away victor from him and which has taken them to court on at least three different occasions ,the new twist in his political journey was all too much for him to live with .

Some even said the sexual pressures of marrying a much younger woman recently was too much for man with a history of diabetes,high blood pressure among other health challenges,insisting that the wives should be held responsible

Not even the emergence of the All Progressives Congress as the number one party in Nigeria could prevent ,so in a state of shock he simply packed up and the rest is now history

This is on the superficial level but spiritually what took place was a shade different as on the day Audu started to feel sick he refused to be admitted in any Kogi based hospital though he did got some medical attention from some doctors working on ad hoc basis to stabilize pending when he will be moved to Abuja

Then he started to vomit blood and passed on several hours later as efforts  to revive him failed and then the spiritualists moved in.

An insider account suggests that Audu actually came back to live temporarily for some minutes and questions were posed to him on whether his death was from God or was catalysed by man and he answered that he died due to a deep seated air of conspiracy but did not mention any one in particular.

Paedia Express  Multimedia can inform today that the two front runners from the P.D.P. and the A.P.C. were running against a powerful but unknown adversary in the polls,the people of Ebiraland in Kogi Central Senatorial District

In the run-up to this year’s polls,the two leading parties had picked Governorship and their respective running mates from Kogi East and Kogi West respectively while putting the strategic commercial nerve centre of okene on the edge .

It is not known who attacked Audu spiritually as at press time,but it may have been from within A.P.C.,P.D.P.,or his Ebira opponents  who are not happy about his emergence thus making him to play catch up as always.

There is also a school of thought who have argued that perhaps the selection of Chief James Abiodun Faleke as his running mate may also have caused a lot of enemity among the political class in Kogi state.

It is a known fact that Faleke was a local government chairman in Lagos state for eight years and and elected member of House of Representatives before being ferried by Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to stand for his interest

This reporter can also authoritatively reveal of a   deadly charm in Ebira land ,commonly called “Etchipa” by natives which could be used in a spiritual warfare in times of a great distress by a victim who  has been marginalized .

This charm exists in various forms ,for example there is an “Etchipa” that when inflicted on its victim spiritually can lead to swellings akinned to elephantiasis until the victim dies in pains.

There is also another “Etchipa”that can cause severe rashes on the body leading to the victim smelling like a corpse while yet alive until the victim dies.

There are cases where there are antidotes and there are cases where there is none but death and in all of the occasions ,no medical sciences can diagnose or treat  the disease.

It is now believed very strongly that an “Etchipa”to stop the heart from beating may have killed Prnce Abubakar Audu ,though this lacks a medical science and legal proof.

As at press time,91 polling units in 18 local government area in Kogi state was still been hotly disputed .

It was gathered that well over 49,000 votes were registered in these areas but only a little over 25,000 had their permanent voters cards as the difference between the two top most candidates standing at over 41,000.

Sources claim that the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC]was in a serious dilemma over what to do on the Kogi state situation.

A source who spoke to this reporter said that if A.P.C was declared to have won the election by INEC then he was sure that P.D.P. will go to court to seek for injunction .

The source also affirmed that he was sure that if the election was cancelled totally and a fresh one was ordered then A.P.C will rush to court.

Onl about 55 percent of voters turned up at the polls at the recent Kogi state governorship polls.

Kogi state is made up of three main tribal groups:The Igala,Ebira and the Yoruba Okuns ,who are bitter and eternal rivals .

In the 1990’s during Alhaji Audu’s first romance with power as Governor ,there was an incident with his Deputy Governor,Chief Patrick Adaba that led to the former slapping the latter publicly though the media was not allowed to report this incident.

So intense is the rivalry between the igalas and the Ebiras  that it is known in the state that there is a mutual mistrust between the duo.

The issue of power shift also generated a lot of tension in the political calculation of the state with elders in Kogi Central accusing their counterparts in Kogi West and Kogi East of working against their interests.

Insiders insists that Kogi East politicians have never forgiven Kogi Central over the betrayal the Late Architect Olutimayin suffered vat the hands of Late Senator  Tijani Ahmed as the duo tried to wrestle power from the eastern axis.
