TEXT OF SENATOR MOHAMMED OHIARE’S CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE PASSING AWAY OF PRINCE ABUBAKAR AUDU.

FLAGS FLY AT HALF MAST FOR AUDU IN KOGI STATE AND EVEN AT PAEDIA EXPRESS WHERE HE WAS GIVEN AN AWARD FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO NATIONHOOD IN APRIL,2015
Senator Mohammed Ohiare, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District of the 8th Senate, has described the death of Prince Abubakar Audu as shocking, and a big loss to Kogi State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Nigeria at large.
Speaking from Ogbonicha in Ofu Local Government of Kogi State during Audu’s burial, in an emotional laden voice, Ohiare said: “as Muslims, we ...take solace in the fact that – to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return, and as human beings, we definitely will feel the loss of loved ones when they die, but I want to urge everyone to be patient even as we grief and mourn the loss of our great leader, for indeed, Allah is with the patient”. Ohiare described Audu as a good family man, leader, political colossus, father of modern Kogi state, dogged fighter and as can be observed from the recent elections, a man well loved by his people, and asked well-wishers to offer prayers for his soul.
While condoling the family of the late Prince of the Niger, Ohiare urged them to be strong and seek comfort from two verses of the holy Quran:
“All that is on earth will perish, but the face of your Lord will abide (forever), full of Majesty, Bounty and Honor” (Qur’an Surah Rahman; 55:26-27); and
“Every soul shall have a taste of death and only on the Day of the Judgement shall you be paid your full recompense. Only those who are saved from the fire and admitted to Paradise (Jannah) will have attained the object (of life). For the life of this world is but good and chattels of deception.” (Qur’an Surah Imran; 3:185)
The Senator concluded by saying: “Audu has lived a good life and impacted positively in his community and country. We should take lessons from his life and death, especially politicians, as this life is nothing and not worth all the trouble and acrimony. We should learn to do things in moderation, live in peace and have the fear of Allah at all times”.
On behalf of his family and the good people of Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Ohiare sympathizes with the family of late Prince Abubakar Audu, and the entire people of Kogi State for this monumental loss.
