A toxic consignment of the Harp Lager Beer from the stables
of the Guinness Breweries Plc is believed to be in the market if current
feelers are anything to go by
In an exclusive interview with The News Office Desk of
Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos ,Nigeria
at the sidelines of a Lagos State conference on Noise Pollution held
recently ,Barrister Demola Ilori lamented at the pains he and his client had
gone into in trying to reach out to the management of the foremost brewer at
personal cost at the implications of selling a hazardous product in the market
place.
H e gave out a photo copy of the letter he drafted to the
National Commercial Director of the brewing blue chip but which the latter has
refused to reply in correspondence even as
at the time we filed for the press.
His words:”we are legal practitioners to Mr Ogunkunle James
Adebayo and we are under instructions from him to write to you thus”
“Mr Ogundele James Adebayo purchased a carton of your
product Harp Lager beer which is triple
filtered on the 24th of April,2016 from a retailer at Abby Guest
House via one of your distributors ,Bukky Stores”
“Bukky Stores ,a subsidiary of Debetok Com Ent of Nos
4,Mokuolu Street ,Ogba and in the carton contained your product harp lager beer
not only with sediments but already expired”
“on the neck bottle was written BB:22-02-16. BB:04-04-16 with batch number L5277L60811111”
“This products are not only injurious to health after
consumption but that some of his guests had gulped erroneously without knowing
out of the products in the carton in which their state of health are seriously
under observation to know the resultant effects “
“we are in possession of a bottle from the remaining six
bottles not yet consumed and we shall produce it on demand or in the court of
law “
Barrister Ilori then explained that in view of the stated
above ,his chambers were demanding a financial compensations commensurable to
the loss of his client as the said
poisonous substance was meant to have been served at his organized party on the
24th of April,2016.
The lawyer cum human rights activist also enjoined Guinness
Nigeria Plc to give out 10 cartons of Harp Lager Beer as free drinks to his
client as part of his demands.
He warned that any attempt by the brewer not to withdraw all
the other batches of expired products from its distributors nationwide with all the regulatory agencies been aware
of it ,he will take the company to task on the matter.
