A Gigantic tree dating back to a period suspected to be
between 1600 to 1700 in terms of ancestral origin has finally fallen.
At About 5:30 P.M. ,a
big swoop on the ground made by the which narrowly missed some houses in the area at Ikinaro Quarters in
IKuehi-Ihima in Kogi state caught the eye of every passer by.
On closer examination ,what looked like a series of
spiritual materials for demonic enchantments were discovered by residents.
When this reporter arrived at the scene of the big tree crash
,at least six artisans were seen cutting away parts of the three for the
purpose of lumbering the following day after
the crash
While clearing some of the mysteries surrounding the tree ,Chief
Hassan Musa Adeku, the Custodian of the Great Imorhimohr masquerade of Ihima of
Kogi state told The News office Desk of E.N.M.Paedia
Express Multimedia Group of Lagos ,Nigeria ,said that even he who was well over
60 years of age could not tell the story
of the tree accurately.
Chief Hassan Musa went down memory lane to recount how his ancestors
like Chief Idah ,Alhaji [Chief]Badamasi Adeku and Musa Adeku who all lived in
between 1700 to 1980s had met the tree in question.
,Hassan Musa Adeku, a tribal chief and a hard core African
religious adherent is a first cousin to Paedia Express Founder:abdulmumini
ireyi adeku...
In a related issue ,it was also learned from other senior
family sources of the Badamsi Adeku/maliki Danga,Yakubu Abero/Momoh Oricha families of Asimo Sub clan of Ure Clan of
Ikuehi Ihima in okehi local Government Area of Kogi state of Nigeria that
Alhaji Badamasi Adeku who died in 1978 and was grandfather of this reporter was a devotee of a masquerade called
Arijenu but that when he accepted islam
he left the services of the masquerade to serve Allah.
Another Source also stated
that Chief Idah ,who was great grand father to the Paedia Express
Founder was never a muslim at all but practiced the local form of African religion
all through his life time but each time he goes to do business in Okene ,a
short distance away he used to see people praying at what is today a central
mosque in the town and after asking questions he was intrigued about the thoughts
of the new faith.
Family sources say that when Chief Idah ,a thorough bread
traditionalist got to Ihima he made sure that he demarcated a land for anyone
who wanted to practice Islam to adopt the faith even though he was not a Muslim.
Till thjs day the spot that was demarcated by chief Idah in
the 1920s or so for a Mosque remains a
major Islamic architectural land mark in Ebira land.
He died with his traditional believes though.
Further checks showed some demonic artefacts tied to the
tree suggesting that peoples destinies were tied to the tree for demonic
purposes as it was also revealed that the place was a shrine of some sorts with
a lot of spiritual activities taking place at the spot in ancient times.
