Express Founder Writes king Salman of
Saudi Arabia on socio-cultural reforms
His Eminence and Royal
Majesty,
King Salman,
Al Masmak Palace
Riyadh ,Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia
Reforms needed to win the War
on Terrorism
Your Holiness,
i write you today in the name of God of all
flesh ,The God who does not know any forms of barriers ,The God who does not
discriminate ,The God who in his own wisdom allows the rains to fall on
Muslims, Christians ,Jews ,Hindus ,Buddhists, Shintos ,Confuscians and many
more without any form of prejudice whatsoever .
i beseech you in your highly exalted position
as the custodian of the holiest shrine in Islam ,The Holy Kaa'Ba and the Al
Masjid An Nabawi both in Mecca and Medina respectively to as a matter of
urgency rise against the forces of darkness trying to destroy our world in the
name of religion.
As a muslim child i went to a Quranic centre
where i was told that we were neither friends or enemies of all that were not muslims
but the behavior of my birth or biological parents differed as they had a
welcoming smile for everyone irrespective of tribe or creed even though they
were both muslims.
i later learnt
in my later life that my experience was very mild as in a lot of Quranic
Schools hatred was actually taught to pupils and this is where deep resentments
develop thus leading to radicalism and then to terrorism.
I have been told as a child and even read in
Islamic literatures' of how The Holy Prophet Muhammed[Peace Be Upon
Him][P.B.U.H] met and discussed with Christians for better understanding of his
heavenly mission during his lifetime and in one of the Hadiths ,it was said
that when it was time for the Muslims to pray ,The Prophet of Islam ,Muhammed
,Sallalehi wa Saalaam[S.A.W] even offered the Christians a spot in the mosque to say
their own prayers in accordance to their faith will have it as he joined his Muslim
brethren in a congregational prayers at
the time in another section of the vast compound of the mosque without any form
of prejudice.
it is also said that the Holy Quran enjoins
that there is no compulsion in religion ,but despite what i hear and have read what we see today both in orientation and
practice is in very sharp contrast and i
will appreciate it very much if am lectured on any other areas am not
aware of.
The other day i read of a terror attack at a
spot not so far away from the sacred tomb of the Holy Prophet Mohammed and to
think this kind of sacrilege can happen in the Holy land means that nobody is
actually safe anymore.
It is my earnest desire that you will in the
spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan about coming to an end in the year,2017 do things differently from your predecessors
to bring about healings to a deeply divided
world due to the effect of religion which ordinarily should be about integration and a more
peaceful co-existence as humans.
Islam makes reason[s ]the final judge in everything
whether in religion or in conviction and in faith itself.
God said:"And the case of those who
disbelieve is like that of a person who hears the sound of a call but who does
not distinguish any word or idea from it"
"to talk to them is like talking to the
deaf ,dumb and blind as those who disbelieve simply do not use their own
reasons and neither do they understand"
Commenting on this verse:Sheikh Mohammed Abduh
writes: this verse clearly asserts that Taqlid without a reason or guidance is
the prerogative of the disbeliever and that man is not a convinced Muslim
unless he has reason out his religion ,known it in person and become personal
of its truth and validity.
Whoever ,therefore has been brought up so as to
acquiesce without a reason and to act without knowledge and wisdom even though
he may be virtuous but he is not a convinced Muslim"
Religious conviction does not have for its
purpose the subjugation of man to the good as if he were an animal rather its purpose is that man may by the use of
reason and the pursuit of knowledge rise up to a level where he will do good
because he knows that it is good and acceptable to God while avoiding evil
because he knows its undesirable consequences in the long term.
Just imagine O' king if you pay a visit to
Teheran in Iran and pray at one of its
Sunni mosques and then pay visits to top
Shiite leaders and politicians in that country ,just think about it
Imagine if you pay a visit to Jerusalem to pray
at the Al Aqsa Mosque and then pay a visit to the Israeli Prime Minister, imagine
inviting Pope Francis to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia or visiting him at the Vatican
,imagine sponsoring a global media and advertising campaign centered on our father ,The Prophet Ibrahim
and how he is the father of all jews, christains and Muslims and aired globally
on all major media platforms around the world what it can do to promote global peace and co
-existence as i think if you do all of this it will go a long way in dousing sectarian
tensions around the world.
Just imagine ,O king Salman ,of prayers that will be done for you
if you send frozen meat which ought to
have being destroyed or incinerated after its spiritual usage during the Hajj
by pilgrims to those that are internally displaced by war, famine, disease and other
forms of refugee related crisis around the world through the World Food
Programm via refugee camps...
Imagine the healings this will bring to a very
restive and divided world, o King..
Islam advocates for all of mankind to go in
search of knowledge but your society is still largely very conservative and
this is an area that you will need to take another look at in your divine
guidance of the Kingdom.
It is rather wrong for us to condemn Madam
Marine Le Pen of hatred for Muslims and others of her kind while at the same
time we say that it is right for the Muslim to hate others ,this is rather
wrong.
I pray that
God ,The Almighty Allah Subuhana Watta hallah will guide you very well at this
difficult times in taking incisive decisions that will advance the course of
humanity positively.
Thanks,
Yours
Faithfully,
Abdulmumini
Adeku.
