being all now men of blessed memories have one thing in common and that is the
fact that and that is the fact that they
fought for the independence of such nations like The Ivory Coast ,Senegal ,Ghana,
Ivory
Coast,Niger,Algeria,Guinea,Mali,Chad,Namibia,Mozambique,Angola,Uganda,Sierra
Leone,The Gambia, Cameroun,Nigeria,Togo,Central African Republic,Congo
KInshasa[Zaire],Kenya,Tanzania,Zambia via dialogues and even through the trenches:
guerrilla war fare
and eventually became Presidents and Prime MInisters in
their respective nations but in the case of Rhodesia now known as Zimbabwe this did not quite work according to the Pan
African script at the time.
For in the nation ,The Shona tribal group had about 60
percent of the entire population strength of Zimbabwe as against that of their closest tribal rival:the Ndebele people and
this was what separated the political neophyte from the real hero of
nationalism and father of modern day Zimbabwe: The late Mr Joshua Nkomo .
Now,Nkomo was from the Ndebele tribe from the Matebele lands
while Mugabe was from the dominant Shona tribe and it was this factor that
helped Mugabe to prominence rather than he doing enough than Nkomo all through the latter's life time.
Mugabe had bombed a fast moving train as a 16 years old
fighting guerilla for independence against the white colonialists or the powers
of imperialism but the Rhodesian laws as at then meant he was treated as a minor and
never prosecuted otherwise he could have faced the gas chambers.
He was in the trenches
alongside the real father of Zimbabwean liberation struggles and
politics ,The late Mr Joshua Nkomo .
However ,whenever it came to sharing the spoils of war ,ethnicity
which has being the nemesis of several
great men in African politics reared its
ugly head.
Infact it had to take some political re-alignments for Nkomo
who was the true leader of the struggles for independence to be given a
position as Vice President in post independent Zimbabwe as tribalism and
nepotism took over the center stage of the southern African nation.
In an interview with The News office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia
Group in Lagos,Nigeria ,a source who is a great student of history said that he
was happy that the ruling ZANU-P.F. had finally mustered enough courage to sack
President Robert Mugabe and his manipulative wife: Grace from the party with
the possible impeachment expected to follow from the parliament if he refuses
to resign as expected from office shortly.
The source explained that Mugabe always had a morbid hatred
for the White minorities and this he later acted upon by taking over their
lands forcefully and giving it to the natives instead of learning from neighboring
,South Africa ,where the late Nelson Mandela made concessions despite his
people having the numerical advantage
For us at The News office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia
Group in Lagos,Nigeria ,news about a soldier strike in Harare,Zimbabwe did not
come as a surprise.
For so long ,this reporter had waited for the military to
break the duck after an exclusive chat with The Chief Executive officer of
Sunbird African Media LImited ,Mr Richard Mammah ,who had revealed that perhaps
Mugabe was likely to hand over the baton of leadership to soldiers if the issue
with his wife did not work out in the end as Zimbawe became Mugabe's personal
estate.
He however pointed out that since the corrupt Generals in
the Zimbabwean military could not assert themselves then they probably may be by- passed by
Mugabe .
It was also common knowledge that Mugabe was bribing all of his top military commanders who could
have some power grabbing ideas thus making him look invisible to an outsider.
It would appear that the recent crisis between Mugabe and
his Vice President :Emerson Mnangagwa pushed a splinter group in the army to
finally move out of the barracks for some adventure after being sponsored by the Veepee suggesting
that the number two man learned
seriously under his tyrannical boss.
The presence of soldiers on the streets of Harare ,Zimbabwe
has helped to raise the awareness of the entire globe to the precarious
political tension in the Southern African nation.
In a chat with this reporter ,a source said that it was high
time Mugabe was flushed out from office as he had overstayed his welcome in a
position of public of trust.
The source wondered why one man will say that without him an
entire nation should be grinded to a halt
and lamented the fact that while allotting the so called White owned
fertile lands,Mugabe did not use good tact and diplomacy on the matter.
Feelers as at press time shows that even his Shona tribal
chiefs have washed off their hands from Robet Mugabe's case and the rival
:Joshua Nkomo now late will turn in his grave if it is possible.
Apart from Mr Joshua Nkomo,Mr Robert Mugabe was a
contemporary of the likes of Canon Joseph Banana,Ndiabanga Sithole,Abel
Muzorewa after taking over the mantle of leadership as Prime Minister in 1980
from the last white ruler of Rhodesia, the late Mr Ian Smith.
