THAT APOLOGY BY VANGUARD (Part 1)

With those words, Vanguard was last spotted close to the Kirikiri canal, speeding away from the maximum security facility, speeding off to redeem their REPUTATION in print, on Vanguard Avenue in Apapa.
LITIGATION THE FINAL ARBITER OF TRUTH

Litigation has again been proven to be the final arbiter of Truth. It happened between Abati and Buhari, it is happening again between Osibanjo and Vanguard, but there is an outstanding issue… Timi Frank, and Katch Ononuju
….AND THE ALSATIAN BARKED!
The threat of litigation is the bark of a dog, from whom lies flee, in "fearful fright from feet" of justice, but truth on the contrary, stands firm in defiant confrontation!
Osibanjo (like Buhari) through his lawyer BARKED; barked with the wrath of a well groomed Alsatian dog, not like those care forsaken, starved local breeds (aptly called ekuke in Igbo) whose tails have a permanent abode of fear between their hind legs. The Vanguard like Abati, scampared and fled; fled to the safe haven of out of court settlement ...but there is yet a but; a curious one at that, Frank and Ononuju the passengers who were the beneficiaries of Vanguard's hitch hike, (who have since been dropped off, by the Vanguard at the sound of the barking dogs of "litigation threat")
These men it seems are holding tight to their "FACTS", "FACTS" because an individual (in this case Osibanjo) is presumed innocent until he is proven guilty!
If there is any such thing as a morning devotion in the Vanguard (a practice in many offices in Nigeria) Luke 12:58-59 would have been the Bible passage!

BUHARI, ABATI, LITIGATION AND FACTS

That was the way Ifreke Inyang, crafted his story, seven years ago, and went on to provide the following details:
"The terms of settlement reads in part: “The claimant (Buhari) and defendants (Abati and The Guardian) have agreed that the defendants should publish a retraction and an apology to the claimant on the Opinion Page of the newspaper, to be printed in reverse line black (RLB) within seven days of entering the Consent Terms as the judgment of the court in two editions of The Guardian."

Where do Frank and Ononuju stand?
If they refuse to apologise and accept Osibanjo's legal challenge, then the question will be extended to Osibanjo.
Frank is indeed defiant

"I have today instructed the commencement of legal action against two individuals, one Timi Frank, and another Katch Ononuju, who have put their names to these odious falsehoods,” Osinbajo tweeted on Wednesday.
“The defamatory and misleading assertions invented by this clique had mostly been making the social media rounds anonymously,”
Timileyin Omilana, in a story he titled: "Osinbajo sues Timi Frank, Katch Ononuju for libel" published in The Guardian on September 25, 2019, contained Osinbajo's directive for legal action against both men.
On their part, Leo Sobechi, Seye Olumide, Joseph Onyekwere and Terhemba Daka (in the same paper) in their account dated, September, 26, 2019 and titled: "Osibanjo, the fight back begins", contained the following:
"I will waive immunity to clear my name, says VP
• Vows to prosecute Frank, Ononuju for peddling ‘falsehood’
• Vows to prosecute Frank, Ononuju for peddling ‘falsehood’
Osinbajo is standing fit on feet of his integrity, but Timi Frank has his hands on the red carpet on which Osinbajo stands
Whose feet would be found to be fit after defeat, by feat?
Truth, stands firm in defiant confrontation!
But who is defiant Timi Frank and Katch Ononuju?
