In Nigeria,there are several men of God who are well known both locally and globally for their works in Christendom and comparative religion ,however ,some are not popularly known despite their lofty contributions and Pastor Gbenga Joseph Julius represents a lot of people in this category...
Now ,this is the story of this great Man of God ,who has just departed this realm for the great beyond only Yesterday ,18 of Febraury,2020 in the words of his bosom friend of over 30 years ,Prophet Ben -Luther Moibi ..
Pastor Moibi speaks with fond memories of the departed :His a graduate of the University of Calabar where he had studied English Literature and while in Deeper Life ,Pastor Kumuyi took a special interest in his professional or career growth and he recommended him for a training in the United States at Kenneth Haggin Thelogy Seminary where he studies how to learn and write Christian literature in 1984 .
He was born in the family of Julius in Akure in Ondo state about 62 years ago
He was my leader in the Deeper Life Bible Church in the 1980s but we were not close at the time,but in 1990 when he wanted to go into printing business ,one of my colleagues who is a leader in the Deeper Life church also linked me up with him and we became close friends till his death.
Yesterday,a friend of mine who is good friends with him as well called me to inform me that he was dead and i could not believe it ,so i told him to switch off the phone so that i can regain my composure as i was in shock .
So now i called his eldest son ,John Julius to find out whether he was truly dead and to this he confirmed that his father was dead but he had not told his mother just yet. i asked him whether Dr D.K.Olukoya ,General Overseer of The Mountain of Fire Ministries was aware,but to this he only responded by saying he will send a text message to alert him on the sad development shortly.
This man was a man of several parts within the body of christ ,he was a General in the vine yard of the services of the Almighty God ,he was never crowned but he was fit to have been a professor of Christian literature ,a great pen of several General Overseers in the country and a great epistle writer ,he was also a Pencil to the Almighty God...
When Pastor Williams .F.Kumuyi 's wife died,Sister Abiodun he had paid a visit to the great clergy in his office at Ayobo area of Lagos,Nigeria ,and Papa told him point blank that since he left Deeper Life they had never seen anyone like him to write for them in the church .
The first ever book written by the General Overseer of the Lords Chosen ,Pastor Lazarus Mouka was written by him and it was about testimonies
He has also written several books for Pastor Shola Ore ,The Present Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria[P.F.N.]
This man served the highly revered Church leader,W.F.Kumuyi for 20 years ,transcribing his messages into books ,he is also the originator of search the scriptures which is used for Sunday School in Deeper Life for over 20 years.
He has spent over 25 years in Mountain of Fire Miracle Ministries before his untimely death just yesterday ,18th February,2020.
He wrote the Deliverance Bible for Dr D.K.Olukoya and this is well revered in global Christendom as it is a respected Best seller worldwide..
He had told me personally that Dr D.k.Olukoya had only written just five books when joined him 25 years ago ,he then voluntarily handed over himself to work for him as a Pen writer for the Battle Cry Ministries under Dr D.K.Olukoya 's Ministries .
He has transcribed and written several books ,well over a thousand for Dr Olukoya till date under the Battle Cry Ministries..
In 1999,this man had an excellent vision of a devotional book called Open Heaven and so he called a friend from the Redeem Christian church of God who was financially endowed and they both agreed to merge forces for the work..
This made them to pay a visit to the General Overseer of The Redeem Christain Church of God ,Pastor Enoch Adeboye ,who then approved the project to go ahead..
So they did Volume one,Volume 2 but by the time they will publish the 3rd volume ,there was a serious misunderstanding between this two and they both took the matter to Pastor Adeboye ,who warned that if they did not settle the issue among themselves he will take over the project and not give to another person and this has being the situation till date..
Before he died ,he told me that one of the people who he had employed on the project back then by name Gabriel was still working with them till date as he lamented that he was never compensated and this was the situation till he breath his last.
Pastor Gbenga Julius was a great writer but never authored any book save for one which he wrote and marketed for sales in the United states of America for personal fund raising though his boss ,Pastor Olukoya was not aware of this at the time ,he has used his pen to win millions of souls and at death his works were still speaking for him in volumes.
He has written a lot of works literarily in Christianity as a scholar both locally and globally for several clergy most of whom i may not even know
