TRAGEDY:PAEDIA EXPRESS FOUNDER'S ELDER BROTHER ESCAPES
DEATH,
11 CRUSHED TO DEATH IN OKENE
BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU
23rd of October,2017 is a day residents of Okene ,The
Commercial nerve centre of Kogi state will readily remember for a very long
time to come.
11 people were sent
to the great beyond by a trailer said to have being on its way to the cattle
market at Zangon area of the town just on the outskirts of Okene Township.
Indeed, for years on end the hilly environment around the
cattle market has always being a source of concern to all the motorists and even pedestrians using the
road with several lives already lost to the topography.
In a distress call to The News office Desk of Paedia Express
Multimedia Group in Lagos,Nigeria ,a Judge of the state High Court and a direct
elder sibling to the founder of this medium ,Judge AbdulGani Itopa Adeku of the
state High Court said his escape was just a case of divine intervention as he
was caught off guard and in the middle of the entire but rather unfortunate
incident.
He explained that he had gone to fuel his car on his way home after a hard day at work
and while trying to leave the station ,he saw a trailer leave his own tracks and headed for his direction after the
latter obviously had lost track of its brakes due to an apparent mechanical
failure.
He pointed out that the picture of the ghastly accident that
claimed 11 lives on the spot was already creating a buzz on messaging
app:Whatsapp as at press time.
He told this reporter repeatedly that he was out of harm's
way and was at home catching his breath with his wife and children after what
appeared a close shave with death.
He added that his car
which he was driving at the time of the incident was severely mangled in the
crash beyond possible repairs save for a miracle,
The phone conversation between The News office Desk of
Paedia Express Multimedia Group in Lagos, Nigeria and Okene, kogi state of
Nigeria, lasted for only two minutes ,29 seconds suggesting that peace was
returning to the Adeku household as at press time.
