Bermuda :Tropical storm not a threat

Tropical Storm Philippe has
strengthened to the south of Bermuda but is now not expected to threaten the
island.
The storm was passing Florida at 6am
today, more than 950 nautical miles west-southwest of Bermuda, and heading in
an east-northeasterly direction at a speed of about 17mph.
Its closest point of approach to the
island in the next 72 hours was forecast to be 442 nautical miles to the
west-northwest at 3am on Monday — up from the 363 nautical miles predicted by
the Bermuda Weather Service yesterday. It may move closer after that point.
At 6am today, Tropical Storm
Philippe had winds of about 45mph with stronger gusts.
