FOR KENYA,THE DIE IS CAST!!!
BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU,[LAGOS,NIGERIA]
For Kenya, the die is cast and it is a case of to be or not to be as the
East African nation heads back to the trenches very soon for its
cancelled Presidential polls.
It will be recalled that in a landmark
ruling Judges at the Kenyan Supreme Court sitting in Nairobi,Kenya
recently had set aside the much touted incumbency factor wielded by
Presidents in power when it nailed the coffin of a poll which the
international community through its famous observers had declared previously as free and fair.
In a chat with The News office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia Group
in Lagos,Nigeria ,labour party chieftain ,Chief Farinloye urged the
Nigerian judicial system to borrow a leaf from the Kenyan courts ruling.
He noted that due to the judicial volte face on the elections ,Kenya
has now become for all the barometer for measuring the story of
democratization in Africa .
Several commentators and multiple
sources have also said that the decisions of the Supreme Court in Kenya
was due to the age longed effects of the famed Mau Mau rebellion with
blames heaped on the doors steps of Late JoMO Kenyatta for betraying
those that fought for Kenya's freedom.
In his own response ,Public
Affairs analyst and Chief Executive officer ,Sunbird African Media
Limited,Mr Richard Mammah has noted that all the so call foreign
observers have been thoroughly messed up and sufficiently scandalized by
the decisions of the Kenyan Supreme Courts to annul the polls after
they had claimed that it was free and fair to the whole world.
He accused the observers of soiling their hands in an affair that they were supposed to have approached in an unbiased manner.
His words:"Do not forget that i did hinted you shortly after the
elections about what was to come and while it was being counted that
Uhuru Kenyatta was brutal and i suspect that he will do anything against
Raila Odinga "
"But for sure ,nobody saw annulment coming at all and so it is a water shed in the history of African democracies "
As Kenya goes to the polls for the second time in the year ,2017 ,it is
expected by watchers that te East African sub regional super power will
finally get things right.
