IPC CONDEMNS ATTACK ON BAYELSA JOURNALIST
THIS REPORTER ALMOST PAID WITH HIS LIFE RECENTLY FOR DOING HIS JOB
The International Press Centre (IPC), Lagos-Nigeria condemns the recent attack on Bayelsa State broadcast journalist Tonye Yemoleigha who was alleged to have been beating to a pulp by an airman attached to the Air Mobility Command, Yenagoa
Mr. Lanre Arogundade, Director of IPC in a statement described the act as unacceptable, as the journalist in question was battered based on spurious accusation of suspicious movement.
“Battering a journalist is totally inhumane and must be strongly condemned” Arogundade said.
The IPC Director urged the Commandant of the Mobility Command of the Nigerian Air Force in Yenagoa to urgently investigate the incident and ensure that Yemoleigha gets justice.
