:GOVT TO PAY ALL OUTSTANDING SALARIES

Benue state governor Samuel
Ortom, has assured Civil Servants in the state that government will clear all
salary arrears owed to both state and local government workers this 2017.
Ortom,
who was addressing party supporters at his country home at gbajimba during the
weekend, thank God for his grace which
has guided his administration to overcome numerous challenges of year 2016 which he noted enabled him provide
dividends of democracy to various parts of the state.
He
noted that government under his watch would continue to give priority and wages
of worker through prompt payment of salaries maintaining that the hard economic
situation presently faced by government is all over the country.
The
governor expressed optimism that 2017 would be better year, which will offer
greater opportunities to the people of the state in different sectors of the
economy.
According
to the governor, government would open up roads, fro easy transportation of
Agricultural produce to markets and provide mechanized equipments to support
farmers as it is stipulated in the 2017 appropriation bill of the state
christened “budget of rural transformation”.
He
reaffirms the commitment of his administration to uphold transparency and
accountability as well as pursue sustained peace and security of the state.
The
governor further disclosed that government has secured over N3billion loan
which would be made available to farmers at 5% interest to enable them go into
agro based farming and other related ventures and urged farmers in the state to
take advantage of this.
It
could be recalled that Gabriel Suswam, the Immediate past governor of Benue
State was ousted with his PDP led government in 2015 by the Ortom now led APC
government for his inability to pay workers salaries.
