Their love story was like one told from the popular romantic menu: Mills and boon, girl goes to Poland to school and girl meets boy from humble background and babe falls deeply in love to a guy she was several years older than and even socially better than.
Girl refuses to look at status or class differences ,girl marries poor guy anyway and seven years later she gets to be roasted  via cremation after been picked from the morgue in a body bag her husband got her into.
It may appear like a fiction but the world of Mrs Oluwashola Atunrayo Gaska  nee Adefolalu  came crashing down on the 28th of December,2016 when it would appear she was murdered by those that she loved from the accounts ,The News office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia gathered at a world press conference organized by her immediate family in Nigeria to help unraveled the mystery behind her death and the eventual sudden cremation of the corpse without the consent of the Adefolalu family  despite all pleas to that effect.
In a detailed petition submitted to a cross section of the Nigerian media ,the eldest surviving sister of the deceased :Mrs Abimbola Essien Nelson ,a top Nigerian blogger and Public Affairs commentator  said that even though she could no longer bring back her dead sister to life but she was determined to expose the ills in the criminal justice system in Poland where the dastard  act took place.
She revealed that both her and the deceased were children of late Professor Daniel Adefolalu ,a respected climatologist who died himself in 2014 ,with the dead been just 36 years of age.
She narrates :in 2000,Shola travelled to Poland to study Architecture, after graduating and working for some years  the deceased informed the family that she had met and intended to marry Jakub Gaska and settle down in Poland”
“As an African family ,the expectation of the family was that the potential husband would formally visit Nigeria to comply with Yoruba native laws and customs in respect to the traditional marriage rights but this did not happen”
“reluctantly and for the happiness of the deceased ,the family sent a representative to Poland for the church wedding and I was the representative of the family with the wedding taking place on the 15th of August,2010”
“The matrimonial home was at Ui.Owiecimska 33,32-551,Wygielzow,GMINA Babice District,Chrzanow County ,Lesser Poland,a suburb of Krakow where the deceased lived a communal life style as had to share the home with her mother –in- law”
“in her life time, the deceased taught English language as a foreign language ,Shola also owned a photography business and made reasonable income with which she maintained the matrimonial home “
“The husband was in and out of employment between 2010 and 2016 as his highest educational qualifications was high school certificate ,though his last employer was the IKEA Store in Krakow,Poland”
“I constantly received reports that the deceased had constant frictions in the marriage due to the over bearing influence and meddling stance of her mother-in-law and as a matter of fact  my sister had informed me of their plans to relocate to a separate house for the privacy of herself and her husband as there was no privacy whatsoever in the matrimonial home”
“The last verbal conversation I had with the deceased took place on the 24th December,2016 and she made no complaints about her health, however,at about 11:28 a.m. on Wednesday ,28th December,2016 , I received a telephone call from the husband that there had been accident  and Shola had fallen unconscious and had died “
“as expected ,this information was very devastating for me and my entire family ,the husband did not tell me the nature of the so called accident  and I was still talking with the husband when the telephone was disconnected “
Essien Nelson in a tearful tone told the gathering of stunned media men that her supposed brother-in-law later called to tell her that Shola Gaska had been falling sick  and that he had taken her to a local hospital with his own sister and that tests ran on her showed that she  had anaemia and low hemoglobin level.
According to the deceased husband she eventually passed away at about three in the morning of Wednesday,28th December,2016 after refusing to respond to treatment.
The deceased family at this juncture upon been intimated with the sad development decided to make plans to go to Krakow in Poland so as to give a befitting burial to their departed daughter but they were further taken aback when they were informed that the couple had agreed that her body should be cremated ,something the Adefolalu family had a lot of reservations about.
The deceased  family, friends and associates  then requested and pleaded  that the possible  cremation and other forms of logistics for the burial should be suspended till a member of the family was available in Krakow but shockingly ,Mr Jakub Gaska went ahead with the cremation in defiance of all entreaties  to that effect.
Essien Nelson recalled that the husband’s final words on the heated issue regarding the cremation was that :”The cremation will proceed as planned and there is nothing anyone can do about it”
It was noted that inspite of the family’s request ,Mr Jakub Gaska cremated the body of his wife on January,7th ,2017 with neither he nor his immediate family members been in attendance as  the family heard through third parties at the scenes who were sympathetic to the cause.
Efforts made by the deceased family to get the pictures of their loved one at the point of death were not even successful save for a picture that the callous husband produced thus fueling suggestions of a case of murder and deep seated conspiracy being covered up by that family.
Mrs Shola Gaska ‘s family also took a swipe at the irresponsible behavior of members of the Nigerian mission in Poland who have still not gotten back to the family to tell them of information gotten from investigating the incident as at press time.
The deceased elder sister on behalf of the entire family members are asking the following questions
1]we want to know why Shola’s husband could not wait for us to see her body and pay our last respects?
2]we want to know why the representatives that the family chose to stand in for them at the burial were not allowed to do so?
3]we want to know why all the detailed photographs of Mrs Oluwashola Atunrayo Gaska at death   were not given to the family as requested?
