SINN FEIN HUNT FOR CASH IN NEW IRISH POLLS
BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU.
News just reaching Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos ,Nigeria via its News Office Desk suggests that the outlook of who wins the forthcoming polls in Northern Ireland was too close to a call.
President of Sinn Fein,Mr Gerry Adams told this reporter that the percentage of voters at the polls who will vote for each of the political parties based on registration showed that they were running a very tight race of 25 percent to the 25.8 percent of the Democratic Unionist Party [D.U.P] and pleaded with stakeholders to support them so that they may emerge victorious
His words:” Abdulmumini, a chara, We in Sinn Féin are doing everything we can to run the best possible Assembly election campaign.”
But I need your help today,We are neck and neck with the DUP!”
“With your help we can move ahead and become the biggest party in the North for the first time ever.”
“I am asking you to make a donation today, no matter how small, to help our team and campaign workers on the ground deliver the best result possible.”
Northern Ireland will go to the polls on 2 March to elect a new Assembly after the executive collapsed over a botched green energy scheme.
Northern Ireland Secretary James Brokenshire was legally obliged to call the election after negotiations failed.
Stormont was plunged into crisis after the resignation of Martin McGuinness as deputy first minister last week.
The catalyst was the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme, which is likely to cost taxpayers £490m.
But the row over the scheme has resurfaced a range of other issues, including the Irish language and gay rights, which divide the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP)/Sinn Féin power-sharing executive.
