The Civil Liberty Organization has urged the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to follow strictly the issue of rule of law rather than attempting to harass the immediate Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Barrister Bello Mohammed Adoke who is now believed to  be holed up in Holland .
While addressing a cross section of the Nigerian press at its media briefing on the state of the nation, the National Treasurer of the body,Hajia Halima Ibrahim laid a lot of  blames on the door steps of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [E.F.C.C.]insisting that they were not following the rule of law in the discharge of their duties.
She told the gathering that while not approving of corruption, her organization is also not happy with the spate of disobedience to court orders as showed so far by the present regime there by undermining  the democratic credentials of the last regime who had set up a good democratic precedent  by obeying the rule of law like no other before and even after it.
She pointed out that the interest of a regime was the reasons for abusing human rights under a military rule but under the present dispensation the reasons for such an abuse is simply based on the fight against corruption and wondered where this will get the nation in the end.
She made it abundantly clear that she was not happy about the search in Mohammed Bello Adoke’s house among other public figures in recent times without the requisite search warrant as stipulated by the laws of the land.
She lamented a recent press interview granted by Barrister Bello Adoke to an online news medium in which he had alleged that his life was at stake in the polity and warned that nothing untoward should happen to the legal luminary as the nation was still in shock at the way the killing and investigations into the death of Chief Bola Ige has been shrouded in secrecy 15 years after wit no clear cut headway on the matter.
She added that the agency remains committed to the building of a virile nation as enshrined in the constitution  but will be making some demands of the Federal government
..That the Buhari regime should stop all forms of drama and fight corruption in accordance with global bets practices
….Deconstruct the reign of terror and promote freedom, rule of law and democracy
…..obey all forms of court orders from now on
….encourage Adoke and others like him to come out and unveil the cloak of what transpired in past regimes and then try to bring all perpetrators of crimes to justice
….check the excesses  of government appointees who are committed to the sinister objective of aborting the change agenda of the government for their parochial interests
……guarantee the safety and well being of all Nigerians including Mr Adoke
