Except there is a change in
the foreign policies of such nations like The United states of America,Russia,United
kingdom among others fierce fighting Islamist group:Taliban can actually over
run the government of President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul,Afghanistan any moment
from now.
In a world exclusive
interview with The News office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia Group in
Lagos,Nigeria ,Retired United states Air Force officer and Nigerian intelligence
industry captain:Tanwa Ashiru says Afghanistan indeed is a tough terrain to
operate any time.
She explained that during
her days in the United states of Air Force ,she was opportuned to have visited
the nation with lots of desert ,peaks and mountainous ranges for about six
months between 2010 till 2011.
She revealed that her tour
of duty took her to Kabul,Belgram and Helmand with each of the cities with its
differences for her in terms of the experience that she garnered during her
stay in the country.
Ashiru speaks:”we had a very
scary experience in Belgram as a missile was fired towards our camp by the
enemy but we were fortunate to have come out of it alive “
“in Helmand,the situation
was different as our camp was located at the heart of the desert and this
allowed us to see any form of intruder coming towards us from afar and so in
Helmand we had a better form of security in place”
“Belgram was also a place
that was surrounded by hills and mountainous ranges “
Afghanistan
declared a day of mourning on Sunday, two days after at least 140 people were
killed in a Taliban attack on the Afghan National Army (ANA) headquarters.
United
States troops have been fighting for almost 16 years in Afghanistan, where the government
and its coalition allies are battling a resilient Taliban as well as other
terror groups including ISIS.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani visited the base on Saturday,
and in a statement condemned the attack as "cowardly" and the work of
"infidels".
The Taliban's deadly raid Friday on a northern army base that
killed or wounded more than 100 people was revenge for the deaths of two of its
officials in the region, a spokesman for the group told CNN.
The militants reportedly used rocket-propelled grenades and
rifles, and also detonated several suicide vests that were packed with
explosives.
Witnesses described a scene of confusion as soldiers were
uncertain about the attackers' true identity.
American forces enjoyed a brief victory last week, when the U.S.
military said Taliban leader Quari Tayib was killed in an airstrike in Kunduz
province.
The base at Mazar-e-Sharif is home to the Afghan National
Army's 209th Corps, responsible for providing security to most of northern
Afghanistan, including Kunduz province - which has seen heavy recent fighting.
Meanwhile, the USA military command in Afghanistan said that
Taliban commander Quari Tayib had been killed in a coalition air strike.
The defence ministry said on Saturday it has launched an
investigation, and will provide more information when that is completed.
The NATO-led military coalition deploys advisers to the base
to train and assist Afghan forces but coalition officials said no foreign
troops had been hurt.
The toll in the Taliban stealth attack continued to rise as
of Sunday morning while there was no official statement on it. The Afghan
national flag will be flown at half-staff in Afghanistan and its missions.
The attack on a base in Balkh province was perpetrated by 10
insurgents dressed in army uniforms on Friday. "The situation shows that
we can not stop supporting, training and advising our Afghan partners", a
German Operations Command spokesman said.
It added that at least 70 Afghan men were being investigated
by Germany's over-stretched chief federal prosecutor, though it was not clear
whether all of them were suspected of being active Taliban militants.
The toll was likely to further rise as several injured
soldiers remained in critical condition.
No comment was immediately available from the migration
office or federal prosecutors. Ghani linked the attack to the stepped-up
attacks on the militant group nationwide, indicated Anadolu Agency.
She said about 55 percent of Afghans were granted refugee
status in Germany, while 45 percent were turned down.
Merkel, seeking a fourth term in a September 24 election,
this month defended the increase deportations of rejected Afghan asylum
seekers, saying all other European Union countries were doing the same.
Internal
conflicts between anti-communists muslim
guerrillas and the Afghan communist
government led into a war situation which has refused to end till date.
The roots
of the war is laid in the overthrow of the centrist government in April,1978 by
left wing military officers who then decided to hand over power to two Marxist –Leninist
political parties who together had formed the Peoples Democratic Party of
Afghanistan .
Having a
little support base, the new regime forged closer ties with the Soviet Union as
it launched a ruthless purge on all forms of Socio-economic reform that was
bitterly resented by the muslim populace.
Muslim tribal
insurgencies arose against the state and these led to uprisings along with internal fighting leading to coups
thus prompting the invasion of the nation by 1979 with 30,000 Soviet troops as
it squared against the muslim militia group called the Mujahideen.
By 1982,
over 4.3 million Afghans had fled into exile from their own homeland and the
Mujahideen eventually subdued Soviet air and firepower through the usage of
shoulder fired anti-aircraft missiles supplied by the United states of America
as at then in history.
IN
1988,the United states of America ,Pakistan,Soviet Union now Russia and Afghanistan signed a peace deal for the withdrawal of
Soviet troops and the return of Afghanistan to the Non –Alligned states or movement
.
In
1992,various Islamic groups stormed Kabul out manoeuvred and removed Soviet
stooge in power as at then:Mohammed Najibullah from power and established an
Islamin republic till date but now it appears that if there is no military
intervention again it will appear that the Talibans and other Islamic coalition
groups can over run the government of Ashraf Ghani if feelers are anything to
go by as at press time.
