40DAYS,40 NIGHTS INSIDE THE BELLY OF A KIDNAPPERS DEN

They are a gang of possibly Niger Delta militants who had stormed  the premises of Tydercom Nigeria Limited and taken at least five of their workers as hostage.

They took them to their hide out ,believed to be a small island just outside of Epe in Lagos state.

When the five workers of Tydercom Nigeria Limited were kidnapped  they had no idea that they were going to be at an island just outside of Epe for 40 days ,40 nights.

For those days  they were in the in the belly of what was in between live and death ,they were fed only brackish water which even a lower animal will most likely reject and grinded  cassava flour:Garri in local parlance .

The five hostages were bounded so that they will not escape aside from having their eyes covered with hood for 40 days.

Efforts to cut them loose from the kidnapers den by members of the Nigerian Police Force did not yield any dividends as three police men died in a gun duel with the ferocious kidnappers  while a passerby was hit fatally by a stray bullet that did not give him a second chance in the gun duel.

in his accounts with The News office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia Group in Lagos,NIgeria ,a  victim[names with held ]revealed to this reporter that they were finally set free from the den after they were forced at gun point to cough out a sum of around N3.4million  through their various families as against the initial N50 million that the kidnappers wanted ,saying that the board and management of Tydercom Nigeria Limited washed off their hands from their case as it claimed that they did not have any money to spend on kidnappers.

While giving thanks to God for surviving for surviving the ordeal ,the victim said that the kidnappers who numbered  between 20 to 30 were actually after an expatriate who worked for Tydercom Nigeria LImited but did not succeed and this was why they picked on them instead.

He explained to this reporter that his company was started by a Yoruba man ,who has General Theopilous Yakubu Danjuma on his board of Directors .

According to him,the firm produces antenna, towers and  mast for the telecommunication industry.

The victim also told this reporter that they were molested and beaten severally by the kidnappers while they were under their care.

He added that  were  it not for divine providence  they would have been killed as one of the members of the kidnap gang wanted them to be killed since they did not really get what they actually set out to achieve but a shift in duties by the kidnappers meant that the gang member agitating for their lives was suddenly transferred to another base and this was what helped to preserve their lives.

It was reliably gathered through the victim that the kidnapping gang were previously operating from a hide -out in  ikorodu before they moved to their current location after they had killed a soldier during a gun duel with officers and men of the Nigerian Army.

It was learnt that this hide incident led the Nigerian Army to ransack the whole of ikorodu till over 100 members of the kidnappers group were killed leading to a relocation to the Island area of just outside of Epe in Lagos state.

the victim however pointed out that he was sure that a joint fire power of the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy can face the kidnappers but it will be an aberration to match them with the police as the latter were too weak to face them in any gun duel.
