The News office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia Group in Lagos,Nigeria has exclusively learn t of a culture of slavery being entrenched at the Diamond Bank Plc.

Checks showed that the brand has a great deal of disrespect for its human resource  capacity with at least 60 to 70 percent of its workers believed to be on contract with them.

A mole in the bank told this reporter of how out of the N120,000 that he is supposed to be paid on a monthly basis for been a contract staff,less than N60,000 actually finally gets to him as 50 per cent of his salary actually goes to an employment or outsourcing agency in the company believed to be owned by one of the brands director’s wife.

The Mole explained that they are paid N1,000  for working overtime on Saturdays and even threatened with a sack letter if they refuse to  cooperate with the management of the bank.

His words:”They always tell us that there were people outside of the bank waiting for our jobs and if we do not come on Saturdays then they will be left with no other choice than to issue us with sack letters “

The mole recalled just recently he was one of the few contract staff placed on suspension in his branch for resuming late to work the following day after  getting home tired on a day they were forced to do a field marketing exercise that they did not initially planned for at the bank.

The mole added that the Board and management of the Diamond Bank  Plc loved using contract staff in that they can pay them less while at the same time exploit them to the latter by making them work like a horse.

It was also gathered that other banks have same traits but First Bank and the Union Bank Plc were a bit fair in that they confirm their contract staff in the course of their careers with them
