CENSORSHIP:F.G ARRANGES NTA TO VISIT
AMOSUN
BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU
GOVERNOR AMOSUN IS ONE OF THE PILLARS OF THE PRESENT REGIME OF MUHAMMADU BUHARI AND HE HAS A LOT OF PROJECTS TO HIS CREDIT IN OGUN STATE
In the aftermath of shocking
statements credited to Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state of Nigeria on the
possible censorship of the Social media, The Presidency has acted quickly and
very wisely by arranging a recent visit of the management of the Nigerian
Television Authority [NTA]in the aftermath of protests from the Editorial and
Policy Board of Paedia Express Multimedia
Group over the dangers of censorship and wired accordingly to at least 20
global authorities' on human rights .
Checks by The News office in
Lagos,Nigeria ,shows that while receiving the NTA team ,Governor Amosun had
described the mass media as an essential partner in progress for any successful
regime.,a smart departure from a
statement credited to him about the possible censorship of the social media due
to severe verbal attacks of the various strata's of governance in NIgeria due
to corruption by the general public.
However ,the visit was made to look
as if it was an invitation by the state government to the agency to inspect
infrastructural projects ,a move which every media agency worth its salt could
have performed
