It had not started to rain at all when a very wise man
called Noah was inspired by God and had to start building an Ark.
So couple of months ago three months to be precise or
thereabout ,The News office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia Group in
Lagos,Nigeria had warned exclusively that the waters of the River Benue
starting from the Mount Cameroun region was beginning to rise and so thereby
set the alarm bells ringing.
This was targeted at
not just warnings the authorities but the residents in the area so that they
will prepare for any form of eventuality and when it finally came it came in
torrents.
Paedia Express's Northern Bureau Desk with an annex office
in Makurdi,Benue state had reported at the time that some of the streets within
the town were flooded
USUALLY DURING THE RAINING SEASONS ,THE PEOPLE OF CAMEROUN NORMALLY RELEASE SOME WATERS FROM THEIR DAMS ALONG THE GREAT RIVER AND THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY IT FLOODS ANNUALLY
WATERS
OF THE RIVER BENUE ON THE RISE

a dry tributary of the River at
certain parts of the year, this is one of the deceptive features of all African
Rivers
The Waters of River Benue is on the
rise and if care is not taken the annual flood ritual may soon take place.
Checks by The News office Desk of
Paedia Express Multimedia Group in Lagos,Nigeria and in the Northern Bureau in
Markurdi , Benue state of Nigeria suggests that some residents were beginning
to get worried over the incessant rainfall as they were increasingly finding it
difficult to either walk on foot through
the flood in the streets or even drive through them.
An impeccable source while
confirming the situation via a telephone conversation said that the shift in
the position of the water levels at Lake
Nyos in Cameroun was the direct cause of
the yearly flood
The source also pointed out that the
National Meteorological Agency ,a unit of the Federal Ministry of Aviation has
since tipped the Niger Benue trough as a likely area to be flooded soon in a
recent on air analysis.
