PAEDIA EXPRESS WRITES U.N. OVER PLIGHT OF ROHINGYA MUSLIMS
Dear Sir,
As United
Nations Secretary General ,you are faced with a lot of challenges begging for
your attention but those of the Rohingya
Muslims is an issue that deserves a special mention and attention of the whole
world.
A little over a year ago or even up to two years now,we
wrote editorial pieces about the acts of cultural prejudice against the group
in Myanmar,Formally ,Burma]
At the time ,it had not become an everyday news item on
every tabloid like it is at the moment ,however it is shocking to note that
despite all our pleas on the matter :Madam
Aung Suu Kyi ,ironically a Nobel Prize Winner and that Nations State Counselor did
nothing to assuage the pains of the minority but vulnerable group.
She refused to stand up for the rights of the Rohingya just
because her own faith,Buddhism is in the majority and ordinarily we will have loved to get in
touch with his Holiness:Dalai Lama,a fellow Nobel Prize Winner but the time is
far too gone for that now as a lot of havoc has already been done to this
special but vulnerable people.
On behalf of every human being of good conscience ,we demand
that the United Nations Security Council inflict an immediate economic blockade
on the government and people of Myanmar so as to force it to halt its campaigns
of calumny and ethnic cleansing on the religious minority.
The United Nations
should ensure that all parties head for a peaceful dialogue before the economic
sanctions is halted so as to prevent a re-occurrence..
Thanks,
Yours Faithfully,
