FRACTIONATION OF OIL PALM

Fractionation is an important process for the palm oil industry due to its composition of having almost equal amounts of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. Palm oil is semi-solid in tropical climates, allowing it to separate into a low melting fractionolein and a high melting fraction -stearin (Deffense, 1985) .

Milling Process!!!After milling, various palm oil products are made using refining processes. First is fractionation, with crystallization and separation processes to obtain solid (palm stearin), and liquid (olein) fractions. Then melting and degumming removes impurities. Then the oilis filtered and bleached.

Differences Between Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil outlined!!

Palm oil and palm kernel oil are both versatile oils extracted from different parts of theoil palm fruit. Palm oil is extracted from the flesh or pulp of the fruit (the outer part) whilepalm kernel oil is extracted from the soft part of the seed (the inner par
Gap between Red Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil!!!
Red palm oil is typically organge-red due to its rich carotenoid content. ... The saturated fat content of red palm oil is 40% - 50% saturated, while palm kernel oil is about 81% saturated. (Coconut oil is about 86% saturated fat.) The third difference
between the two is how they are each processed, or “reA randomized, controlled study revealed that red palm oil (RPO, enriched with high levels of tocotrienols, tocopherols and carotenoids) supplementation decreased lipid peroxidation and endotoxemia (the presence of heat stable toxin derived from certain gram negative bacteria in the blood), production of inflammatory ...
Importance !!!!
Palm oil is used for preventing vitamin A deficiency, cancer, brain disease, and aging. It is also used to treat malaria, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, dementia, and cyanide poisoning. Palm oil is used for weight loss and for increasing the body's metabolism. As food, palm oil is used for frying.
