BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU.
Some unscrupulous Nigerians living in the Ivory Coast also called
Cote’D’Ivoire actually con-joined telecommunication cables illegally in a scam
that was called “Onibeji”,for the purpose of personal enrichment almost a
decade ago aside from other nefarious activities they still indulge in as at
press time on the West coast.
While speaking exclusively to the News Office Desk of Paedia
Express Multimedia Group in Lagos,Nigeria ,A Nigerian [names with held]and who
has lived in that nation for not less than a decade explained as much to this
reporter.
According to him ,there were several Nigerians living in The Ivory
Coast who were presently involved in illegal businesses thus giving the good one’s among them a bad
name and this is what has heightened the
issue of xenophobia this days .
He disclosed that most of the scamming Nigerians usually have a
lot of money to throw around especially to the women and this is what has
casued more tension between them and their primary host nation all the time.
\His words:”We have being to pubs where we have ordered all the
ivorians whom we met at the place out of the bar simply because we had more
money to burn and this is what usually caused tension and the owner of the pub had no choice than
to oblige us”
He paid tributes to the bad drinking habits of the Ivorians saying
that he was in the habit of taking Vodka early in the morning and then taking
an average of 2bottles of beer daily aside from eating.
He added that the state environmental conditions in Abidjan was
also a sight to behold as his neighborhood of Pubway ,a highbrow area was
cleared three times daily.
He however gave a thumbs down to the working habit of the people
saying they usually have a break of three hours everyday while working instead
of an hour as is the case in Nigeria .
