ZARIA:MELAIYE IN MY
MEMORIES

SENATOR DANIEL "DINO "MELAIYE WAS BEEN QUESTIONED ON HIS CERTIFICATE AS AT PRESS TIME
I was trying to eat
breakfast at a restaurant this morning when for the umpteenth time people
confronted me with the allegations on my” brother-man”,Senator Dino Melaiye.
Well ,the much I can say is that there was a very strict
academic screening that took place at the Ahmadu Bello University ,Zaria in the
mid -nineties and if you came in the wrong way you went out in the same manner as people got flushed
out and this was spearheaded by the late Major General Kontagora whom everybody
knew to be a very strict man.
It was that same level of discipline that he used throughout
his years as our Administrator of the citadel but about graduating then the
burden of proof and evidence lies at the door steps of the Department of
Geography , Melaiye and Sahara Reporters
as I do not have details on that and only the respective parties can speak on
this.
But for sure , Mr Dino Melaiye was a hugely popular face on
campus and I can recall that we were
attending Charity and Faith Christian Church which was pioneered by the late Professor Ishaya Audu and his
amiable wife whom we all affectionately called Mummy Audu.
Ahmadu Bello University , Samaru,Zaria and its sister
campuses in Kongo,Barau Dikko,Shika amongst others was a massive institution
during my time with population almost hitting the rooftop at about 20,000 but I
really do not know how it is now and so it is pretty difficult for another student
to know a student’s status beyond the information released by the Senate and
the various Departments and Faculties
If Melaiye cannot prove that he did graduate then he should resign his membership of the Senate
or better still a petition to engineer his recall should be initiated .
