DRUG BARON ELECTED SENATOR IN NIGERIA

PRINCE BURUJI KASHAMU STANDING RIGHT WITH HIS HANDS IN HIS POCKET SAYS HE IS BEEN WITCH HAUNTED BY OBASANJO

DRUG BARON ELECTED SENATOR IN NIGERIA

BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU
The level of the total moral decadence that has pervaded the Nigerian business climate came to the fore recently as a known drug peddler, Prince Buruji Kashamu was elected as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Checks by  Paedia Express  Multimedia shows that the Peoples Democratic Party chieftain was elected a Senator in Ogun East Senatorial District.
A source said he was in a state of shock over the victory of the drug lord.
His Words: ’How did he win,who even gave him the opportunity to run in the first place ,so doesit mean that it is only money that we stand for in this country or how is it that it is only money that we stand for in this country”
“I can recall that he was one of the reasons why Former President Olusegun Obasanjo even left  the P.D.P  saying he cannot work with a drug peddler”
‘When he gets to the Senate and they are making laws against drug peddling ,do you think he will support it”
As at press  time, the rival,All Progressives Congress has been contesting hotly the results of the released elections for the National Assembly comprising The Senate and the Federal House of Representatives in Ogun State as they insists the polls were marred by irregularities thus not representing the will of the people.
Born on 19th May 1948, indigene of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is a Muslim, married with children and grand children. He is the Chairman/CEO of Kasmal Group of Companies Limited located at 33, Sanusi Fafunwa Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

He has over 500 employees under the group. He is also the Chairman of Group Kasmal SAL in Republic of Benin. He is an experienced business manager and industrialist, with about 76% share capital in the ultra modern cotton ginnery – Societe d’Egrenage Industrial de Coton du Benin (SEICB S.A) in the Republic of Benin, a neighboring French speaking West African country He is a businessman and industrialist of international repute. He is also involved in the business of importation and exportation of goods and commodities, semi-finished and finished agro-allied products for over 20 years. Concerning the false allegations against Prince Kashamu we have instruction to bring the following to public attention Prince Kashamu is not the subject of any United States FBI investigation The Misleading and false statements concerning him and an alleged offence in US relate to proceedings which involved a case of mistaken identity The first proceedings against Prince Buruji Kashamu brought by the US Government ended in favour of Kashamu when the High court of Justice, Queens Bench Division England in suit No C0/2141/2000 in a judgment dated Friday 6th October 2000 delivered in a habeas corpus application filed by Buruji Kashamu against the US Government held as follows:

The committal order must, in the circumstances, be quashed by reason of the unfairness of the proceedings resulting from the non –disclosure of crucial evidence, as accepted by the government. The writ of habeas corpus will, accordingly issue

This was because, as the court found, the Government had at the committal proceedings concealed identification evidence that proved that Prince Kashamu was not the person involved in the alleged offences committed in the US by some persons. In a second proceedings commenced immediately after the first at the instance of the Government the result was the same with the English District Judge Tim Workman in his judgment dated the 10th of January 2003, finally and emphatically finding as follows concerning the identification evidence:

“I am however satisfied that the overwhelming evidence here is such that the identification evidence, already tenuous, has now been so undermined as to make it incredible and valueless. In those circumstances there is then no prima facie case against the defendant and I propose to discharge him”

The Government did not appeal against these judgments and no further investigation or proceedings have since been brought.
It is an incontrovertible fact that Prince Buruji Kashamu is a successful businessman whose positive influence transcends the shores of Nigeria. Curious enough, some faceless rumour mongers have been circulating damaging documents and articles on the internet etc about him for reasons best known to them. Some of such false and malicious allegations is an advertorial from a fictitious persons placed on Sunday Tribune of 15th November 2009 Initially we wanted to ignore the rumours as the authors and their sponsors are not man enough to attach their identities, but since peddled lies may start to adorn the toga of truth if not rebuffed. We are not interested in joining issues with anybody for the record and documents to rebuff their rumours are available. We have decided to place the following document;

In the circumstances of these facts which are of public record the continued rehash of lies told by some uninformed antagonist, which is already a subject of several libel suits in the Nigeria courts is clear mischief and blackmail and plainly motivated by malice.
\Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo continues to insist that if he knew that Prince Buruji Kashamu was a drug baron while in office as President he will have rot in jail.

Like a cat with nine lives,President Goodluck Jonathan will not go down without a fight
Checks by the News Office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia on the situation room of the Independent National Electoral Commission[I.N.E.C]suggests that the results of six of the states previously believed to have been won by General Muhammadu Buhari will be canceled due to electoral irregularities.
An impeccable Source told Paedia Express Multimedia that states like Kogi,Gombe,Kano,Kaduna,Katsina and Jigawa will now have to bite the dust as the conduct of the elections in those state does not conform with the minimum standard required and set by the electoral umpire.
The Source explained that Since Dr Goodluck Jonathan certifies the constitutional provision of garnering 25 percent of votes more than his hottest challenger, General Muhammadu Buhari who seems to be leading on popular votes nationwide.
His words:’Jonathan has been calm and smiling because he is very confident of winning the polls,if the run-off takes place Buhari may lose as the Igbos will prefer to form a coalition with him”
Paedia Express Multimedia had published an exclusive editorial page report titled:Who is Chekwas Okorie as Nigerians battled hard to know a man who could be the deciding factor in the polls.
A Prince of Alayi, Chekwas, as he is fondly called, was born on the 19th of March, 1953, at Amaeke Alayi in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. He is the eldest surviving son of the late HRH Eze Edward Okorie Emerih, the Igboji of Alayi who reigned from 1960-1978.
Chekwas attended St. Michael’s Primary School, Umuahia and St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Alayi. For his secondary education, he attended Annunciation Secondary School Isuikwuato in 1967 and graduated in 1973 due to the three-year disruption of education during the Nigeria-Biafra War. In 1974 Chekwas proceeded to the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsuka, Enugu Campus, where he studied Management. His Bachelor of Science degree with Honours was earned in 1978.
As a student activist, Chekwas had an early tutelage in human rights and civil rights as a member of the Igbo Forum, starting in 1976. The organization later metamorphosed into what is now known as Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Chekwas had a brief teaching experience as a Lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State in the course of his National Youth Service. He also had a stint as an Assistant Manager with the Nigerian Reinsurance Corporation in 1979 and worked for about four years with the West African Water Drilling and Allied Co. Ltd., where he rose from Commercial Manager to General Manager in 1982. In 1982, Chekwas floated Chel Water Nigeria Ltd. which has given birth to other subsidiary companies. As an employer of fellow citizens in his own companies, Chekwas Okorie had the latitude to launch back into his natural calling of promoting human rights. He did this through the many organizations that he either founded and/or served in leading positions, namely: Nzuko Abia na Imo, ¬President General; Igboezue Cultural Association – Founder and National Leader; Member of the Elders Council and Ime Obi of Ohanaeze Ndigbo; Member, Governing Council of Abia State University 1992 – ¬1996; Member, Board of Trustees Centre for Igbo Studies, Abia State University 1997 – 2000. He holds a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Humanities and Leadership from the University of America, Murrieta, California, U.S.A. Chief Chekwas Okorie has been recognized and honoured with several awards from several communities, organizations, religious bodies, institutions and associations, too numerous to be listed here. However, he cherishes his traditional title of Oje-Ozi Ndigbo (Messenger of Igbo People) because he considers the title to be a sufficiently humble title and a true reflection of his natural calling to stand up for Ndigbo and other similarly oppressed Nigerians. In politics Oje-Ozi Ndigbo has been a prominent and vocal member of all the political parties and associations he has belonged to, viz.: Secretary, National Finance Committee, United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP); Chief Returning Officer, First ever National Convention of the UNCP; Founder and Secretary General, Peoples Democratic Congress (PDC) 1996 and 1998; Member, National Caucus of All Peoples Party (APP), which later became the ANPP and now part of the APC; Member, Peoples Democratic Party National Initiative, Candidate for the Office of National Secretary PDP – November 1999 National convention. In 2002, Chief Chekwas Okorie founded the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). This singular achievement placed the Oje-Ozi Ndigbo as the first Igbo person to become the Founder and National Chairman of a registered national political party in Nigeria. He led APGA to a phenomenal feat in the much manipulated 2003 general election. APGA became one of the three biggest parties in Nigeria out of 30 at the time. The party was widely reckoned with as the foremost opposition party in Nigeria. Such was the Oje-Ozi’s vibrant, robust and consequential interventions in the polity that the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Abuja Chapter conferred on him on 7th May 2004, the award of CREDIBLE LEADER OF OPPOSITION in an impressive ceremony at Chelsea Hotel, Abuja. On the 12th of July, 2007, the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in a historic ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel, Lagos enrolled Chief Chekwas Okorie in Nigeria’s Democracy Hall of Fame. On 29th June, 2014 he was awarded the title of IDE NDIGBO (Pillar of Igbo People) by Ndigboamaka South-East Ndigbo Lagos (comprising 58 Major Market Associations and Igbo Professional Groups in Lagos). On the 12th of December, 2014 at a special reception organized in honour of Chief Chekwas Okorie, he was given the coveted title of Olu Ndigbo (Voice of the Igbo People) by Enyi I of Aba, Abia State in recognition of his unrelenting and sustained efforts for the defense of the rights of Ndigbo in Niger

BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU.
Except anything untoward happens ,then The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed and members of the National Judicial Council of Nigeria should now   be prepared to swear in a new President on the May 29th ,2015
He is 72  years old Former Nigerian Head of State and Commander –in-chief of the Armed Forces, General Muhammadu Buhari
In an exclusive phone interview with the News office Desk of the Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos,Nigeria , on the 29th of April,2015 ,a Retired military officer [names with held]who served and fought alongside General Buhari during the Nigerian Civil war said that he  was optimistic that the Daura Born military tactician can turn things around in Nigeria after been sworn in to office soon.
In an exciting tone ,the military strategist said Buhari’s victory will usher in a new era of prosperity for Nigeria.
He congratulated President Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari for finally succeeding on the 4th attempt after having tasted the ignominy of defeat in 2003,2007,2011 respectively.
His Words:”I will implore General Buhari to do a quick surgical operation of the Nigerian military so as to help salvage Nigeria as we are now a laughing stock”
It was initially thought that the movement of Mr Opeyemi Bamidele back to the All Progressives Congress will affect the party’s fortunes but it will appear that Governor Ayodele Fayose ‘s incumbency factor worked like magic as he won for the Peoples Democratic Party.
It was also thought that  a second round of balloting was possible as Jonathan's ,Buhari’s dog fight became stiffer in the days before the polls due to a propaganda war on either side in the local and international media.
It was difficult to rig the elections  card readers were in place despite there imperfections with manual arrangement put in place  with party agents monitoring details
As at press time, a world press conference was on by Professor Attahiru Jega the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission[I.N.E.C]to announce the formal results of the Presidential Elections of 2015 after the collation of all results nationwide.
General Muhammadu Buhari was Nigeria's Head of state between 1983 till he was thrown out of office by a section of the Nigerian Armed Forces in 1985 .
He is happily married with children and well loved around the country for his commitment to prudence management of resources and accountability.

Multimedia ,Mr Abdulmumini Adeku voted and endorsed the Presidential Candidate of Kowa

Party,Professor Comfort Shonaiya for the plum job of The Nigerian Presidency.
While discussing with bemused voters who accused him of throwing away his vote, the reporter

turned business man said that he will never be a party to the endorsemnt of fraud and this

is why he has not allowed the bandwagon effect of both Peoples Democratic Party and the All

Progressives Congress to sway himn.
He explained that only a psychatric patient will not be able to discern that both P.D.P and

A.P.C were actually one and the same in character and in philosophy.
His words:"it does not really matter to me if Comfort Oluremi Shonaiya loses, the fact isi

have read his interviews in the newspapers and i think that she is intelligent and will make

a good leader"
"i will rather die than cast my vote for those looters in both P.D.P and A.P.C though am

sympathetic to Buhari but his involvement with all those thugs inside A.P.C is scary but i

wish them well all the same"
Prof. Comfort Oluremi Sonaiya of Kowa party is the only woman contesting for president in

march 2015 election in Nigeria. She is contesting alongside her running mate, Saidu Bobboi.

Prof. Sonaiya is a former Professor of Foreign Languages at the Obafemi Awolowo University,

Ile-Ife, Osun State.

In 2008, she was named an International Ambassador Scientist of the Alexander von Humboldt

Foundation, and until recently, Sonaiya was the National Public Relations Officer of KOWA

Party.

KOWA was registered as a political party on July 16, 2009, by a group of Nigerian Civil

Society activists, professionals and technocrats.

Remi Sonaiya was born on March 2nd, 1955. She began her schooling in 1961 at St. Luke’s

Demonstration School, Ibadan, from where she proceeded to St. Anne’s School, also in Ibadan,

for her secondary education. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University

of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1977, graduating with the best result in her

faculty, did her Youth Service at the Nigeria Military School, Zaria, got married, and

proceeded to Cornell University, USA, from where she obtained an M. A. in French Literature.

Back in Nigeria, she enrolled for another Masters degree program, this time in Linguistics,

which she obtained in 1984, and immediately returned to Cornell University for her PhD

studies in Linguistics. She graduated from Cornell in 1988 and returned to continue

lecturing in the Department of Foreign Languages of the Obafemi Awolowo University which she

had joined in 1982 as an Assistant Lecturer. She became a professor of French Language and

Applied Linguistics in 2001.

Among Remi Sonaiya’s academic and professional distinctions are the following:

- Member of the Project Drafting Committee for the Establishment of the Nigeria French

Language Village, Badagry;

- Member of the executive committees of some of her professional associations and of the

editorial boards of several local and international journals;

- Conference interpreter since 1989 (including for ECOWAS);

- Recipient of various international research grants and fellowships, including the French

Government Grant for Advanced Researchers and the German Alexander von Humboldt Research

Fellowship;

- First Nigerian to be appointed as the Ambassador Scientist of the Alexander von Humboldt

Foundation, a position she occupied from 2008 to 2014.

Apart from her academic pursuits, Remi Sonaiya is active in and supports several church and

para-church organisations, including the Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical students

(NIFES), the Nigeria Bible Translation Trust, Calvary Ministry, Great Commission Movement of

Nigeria, etc. She has been a bible study teacher in her church for many years and is on the

international faculty of Haggai Institute, Hawaii, USA, where she lectures on Stewardship.

Remi has always been interested in public affairs and is passionate about issues of

justice, equity, and African development. She is touched by the plight of all who suffer

exclusion and other forms of injustice: children, women, the disabled, the poor and the

unschooled. She is concerned that the young people of Nigeria have to bear the brunt of the

prevailing culture of corruption and pay for it in mass failure in their educational

pursuits, very high levels of unemployment, and feelings of anxiety and hopelessness

concerning their future. She therefore seizes every opportunity for engagement, for example,

through the conduct of her “Life Skills” Seminar.

Remi’s interest in public affairs and development issues influenced her decision to retire

voluntarily from her position at the Obafemi Awolowo University in 2010 in order to devote

more of her time and resources to those pursuits. She joined KOWA Party and was elected its

National Public Relations Officer, a position she still occupies. She is KOWA Party’s

candidate for the 2015 Presidential elections.

Remi contributes regularly to Nigerian media discourse. For example, she was a blogger for

234 Next until it stopped publishing, and she is currently a columnist with The Niche, a

weekly (Sunday) newspaper. She has published three books on the Nigerian (and African)

condition: A Trust to Earn – Reflections on Life and Leadership in Nigeria (2010); Igniting

Consciousness – Nigeria and Other Riddles (2013); and Daybreak Nigeria – This Nation Must

Rise! (2014).

Remi Sonaiya is married to Babafunso Sonaiya, a professor of Animal Science, and they have

two grown children and two grandsons. Apart from English and Yoruba, Remi also speaks French

and German (as well as some smatterings of Portuguese). She loves to sing, cook, write, and

travel.

WHO IS CHEKWAS OKORIE ?

WHO IS CHEKWAS OKORIE ?

The atmosphere is charged and the over 170 million Nigerians are in expectant mood for the much hyped general elections to finally get under way.
The two main political parties, The Peoples Democratic Party P.D.P and the All Progressives Congress both believe that they have done enough to win the entire elections.
The last six months in Nigeria has seen intense drama as politicians on both sides of the divide try to woo the electorates to their sides.
Money,  gifts,   souvenirs and even promises of positions and projects have been made by both Candidate Jonathan and Candidate Buhari to various Nigerians in various spectrum of the society.
Some analysts are of the opinion that if Jonathan wins General Buhari will say that the P.D.P rigging machinery rigged him out  and if Buhari wins ,President Jonathan will lay the blame on the footsteps of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega.
It is strange that despite opinions pointing to the polls as too close to a call , a lot of Nigerians believe that a run off is not possible ,though a lot of Nigerians are quick to agree  that there was not much difference in character between the two leading political gladiators but they will rather settle for either of the duo as they  do not see any of the other political party to be able to identify with them.
When this reporter pointed at Chief Chekwas Okorie,Founder of All Progressives Grand Alliance and who has abandoned his baby to create a new one ,The United Peoples Party, a Nigerian said Who is Chekwas Okorie
The United Peoples Party according  to a recent survey is the third largest party in Nigeria and if the chips are really down in the case of a second round balloting, this party can swing it to anybody’s favor
