SUPER TALENT,OGBUKE BACK FROM THE DEAD

SUPER TALENT,OGBUKE BACK FROM THE DEAD
BY ABAYOMI JOHNSON
Nigeria striker Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke may have rediscovered his scoring wand in Sweden in the colours of AIK.
The 30-year-old Sunday opened his account with the Allsvenskan side, scoring the first two goals, which secured them victory against Orebro SK at Behrn Arena, Örebro.
The former TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Schakle 04 of Germany striker put his new club in front on 37 minutes, while his strike partner made it two in as many minutes into added time.
It was his second outing with the club following his free transfer from Schalke on August 3, 2016.
Ogbuke is back to full fitness after over two years of protracted battle with injuries currently plays alongside 34-year-old former Nigeria striker, Dickson Etuhu, who was an unused substitute in Sunday’s game and John Chibuike, 27, who has yet to play for the club since crossing over from Gaziantep on August 10 2016.
Ogbuke was part of the Nigeria national under-20 football team that finished runners-up at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship and competed with the Nigeria national under-23 football team that finished runners-up at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.
He was part of the Super Eagles team that finished third at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and that competed at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

WAR IN NIGERIAN SPORTS

WAR IN NIGERIAN SPORTS

THE NIGERIAN CONTINGENT AT THE RIO GAMES JUST ENDED IN BRAZIL
The war over years of rot or decay in Nigerian sports which became very evident with the epileptic preparations of virtually all the Federations that took part at the just concluded Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games will eventually cripple sports development in the land if this is not fixed.
Checks by the News Office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos, suggests that the nation did not just get to this shameful  level today but that this was long on the cards if  a fresh revelation now available to this reporter is anything to go by.
In a long drawn interview with a competent source over the decay in Nigerian sports ,it was discovered that the war with the National Olympic Team and the Nigerian Football Federation on one side and the Under 23 Football team on the other side.
He Pointed out that the jurisdiction on the Olympic Games at any particular point in time was always in the domain of the National Olympic Committee and has nothing to do with the Nigerian Football Fedration [N.F.F] and this was why the brand logo of the N.F.F. did not appear in the jersey of the Dream Team but that of the N.O.C due to its legal and brands advertising implications .
A source while explaining to  this reporter insisted that after the Nigerian Football Federation took the under 23 Football Team, otherwise known as the Dream Team to Atlanta,Georgia in the United States of America ,it was the National Olympic Committee of Nigeria that was supposed to have taken over the airlift and other arrangements of the team to Rio De Janiero,Brazil for this year’s Olympic Games that had just ended recently.
He recalled that the  N.O.C actually made arrangements for 25  soccer players in the male category of football but that the nation took at least 30 people to represent her and among this includes the alternate members of the team who were not officially accredited for the games by the International Olympic Team.
He hinted that it was indeed very true that some top shots within the Nigerian Football Federation [N.F.F]actually wanted to collect the monetary donations of about 390,000$given to the footballers by a Japanese born surgeon,Katsuya Takasu as they were not happy that the cheques were made in the names of Samson Siasia and Skipper for the team:John Obi Mikel.
His words:”it was three airlines on ground  in America as that team was sponsored to Atlanta ,there was chartered Delta Airline to take them  to Atlanta and then to Brazil”
“the whole Team Nigeria was taken to Brazil from Nigeria save for the rower as the Minister said they did not have money for any form of training and yet we were dreaming of winning medals that was not there”
“N.F.F. because of what they had with the sponsors for the trip to the United States of America who  wanted to sell players insisted on the foreign trip as against the Ministerial order”
“Now when you are talking of any forms of sponsorship at any level what this means is that somebody somewhere is picking up the bills ,so if the under 23 team left at the right time they should have been in Brazil at least two whole days before the games begun”
“the players rejected the 30 man private aircraft arrangement from the stables of Delta Airlines  and it was at this stage the government got into the picture of what was playing out in America”
“N.O.C said that they had booked for all the participating athletes but insisted that since under 23 was under sponsorship they could not intervene except if they return back to Nigeria which was not cost effective though”
The source added that the Nigerian Basketball team which was in the United States of America at the time preparing for the same Olympic Games  however made it to Rio De Janeiro  about the same time with the rest of the team save for football and wondered why.
He warned that except Mr Amaju Pinnick was made to leave his position as the helmsman of the Nigerian Football Federation he was afraid it was going to be long day for sporting development in the land while taking his time to list the litany of woes in football in the Amaju Pinnick era in the glass house in Abuja,Nigeria.
He lamented the legal fiasco between Amaju Pinnick and Mr Chris Giwa  saying that even this was weighing down on football development in the land as he chided the football fraternity for the dubious polity they played against Mr Giwa who has been fighting for justice as far as football was concerned.
He noted that while the Nigeria would have made a lot of money if the Olympic games was well marketed to the organized private sector by the N.O.C ,it was practically impossible for the same body to start looking for sponsorships for the individual athlete as it was the job of each of the representing federation at the Olympics.
He wondered why a football team like Arsenal Football Club where Alex Iwobi plays released Serge Gnabry for the German team and yet refused  to hand over iwobi to the  Dream Team to help the nation prosecute its football campaigns at the Rio Olympics.
He listed such greats in the sporting community  like Sheyi Akinwunmi,Shehu Dikko and Nduka Irabor  as those that were strong enough intellectually to lead the next look Nigerian Football Federation as he urged Mathematical  Segun Odegbami to go to the basics in soccer administration as he suddenly became quiet when he lost out in the race for the F.I.F.A Presidency at the beginning of the year due to N.F.F.’s filthy politics over the affair.

This reporter also learnt that big brewer ,the Nigerian Breweries Plc are about press time preparing to unveil its brand sponsorship package for the League Management Company in Nigeria.

RIO:JOHN OBI MIKEL IS PLAYER OF TOURNEY

RIO:JOHN OBI MIKEL IS PLAYER OF TOURNEY
PAEDIA EXPRESS EDITORIAL BOARD COMMENT
COLLECTING THE CASH FROM THE JAPANESE SURGEON  WHO LOVED NIGERIAN BRAND OF SOCCER

John Obi Mikel was head and shoulders ahead  of all the footballers that played in the male category of the football event at the just concluded Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.
At the Olympic games .playing in a more offensive  Midfield position as compared to what he plays at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea Football Club in London ,England ,Mikel kept all around the world of football spell bound with his visionary passes ,flicks, feigns, shots, assists and goal during the fiesta.
If he was not the goal scorer ,he was always not far away as he helped the nation ,Nigeria to salvage what may have been a tragic soccer campaign as he carried the entire team behind him ..
The Nigerian under 23 football team was missing in the services of at least 8 established internationals that the coaching crew had penciled down for the showpiece but who all had to pull out for one reason or the other.
Though Neymar’s Brazil won the gold eventually but the embarrassing riches in terms of talent available to them  and the merit of playing at home made life more easier for the Brazilians.
The Germans on the other hand had a full complement of players who were already household names in the Bundesliga  save for Arsenal of Englands wonder boy,Serge Gnabry  who became the lynchpin of a fearsome strike force comprising the like of Mier, the Bender brothers just to name but a few.
Mention and tributes must also be paid to such stars like Williams Trost Ekong of K.A.A Ghent of Belgium now on loan in Norway,Oghenekaro Etebo of Farense in Portugal ,Umar Sadiq of A.S. Roma in Italy who could be on his way to Crotone in the new season and Imoh Ezekiel of Al Arabi in Qatar.
Ezekiel has also played for two Belgian club giants in football: Standard Liege and Anderlecht in Belgium and a lot will be expected of him and all the others in the years to come.

……………………………………………FIFA’S TECHNICAL REPORT EXPOSES SIASIA’S
FLAWS ON CHOICE OF GOALKEEPER
A FIFA technical study group report  on the performance of all the goalkeepers  that were in between the sticks at the just concluded Olympic Games held in Rio De Janiero,Brazil  in the Male category of the football event has  fingered Daniel Akpeyi of Chipa United of South Africa as the best goalkeeper.
This reporter while running a social media commentary on the football event of the global showpiece just rounded up in Latin America had carpeted Emmanuel Daniel for committing several school boys errors in the opening game against Japan and even later on in several other matches he kept in goal in the course of the entire tournament as he made Nigeria very vulnerable but the Under 23 Technical crew felt otherwise.
The more experienced Daniel Akpeyi had played against the Pharaohs of Egypt  during a competitive game for Nigeria in which he did excellently well and was widely expected to have continued with the Under 23 team at the Olympics from where he stopped for the Super Eagles .
Akpeyi was a member of the Nigeria national under-20 football team at 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in Netherlands and was in the 22-man squad before the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, but did not see action in either tournament. He was also called up to the 23-man squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship as a backup to Chigozie Agbim.[7]
On 6 May 2014 Akpeyi was named in the 30-man provisional squad ahead of 2014 FIFA World Cup.[8]
He made his first full cap in 2015, called in for the friendly vs. South Africa as a replacement for an injured Vincent Enyeama. He saved a penalty and was lauded for his strong keeping in his Man of the Match performance.[9]
He was selected by Nigeria for their 35-man provisional squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics.[10]

Checks by the News Office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia showed that Emmanuel Daniel of Enugu Rangers conceded at least   six goals out of a possible ten to school boy errors.
This will not be the first time ,Coach Samson Siasia will display bias in team selection as during the game against the Pharaohs of Egypt in an AFCON elimination qualifier recently ,Siasia played an impotent Stanley Amuzie ahead of the more experienced and mercurial Elderson Echiejiele  of A.S.Monaco,in France.
At the Rio Olympics proper, Amuzie’s incompetence was finally put on display for the whole world to see thus justifying the decision of Seria A giants ,Sampdoria of Genoa not to tie him down with a permanent deal as he went to Olhanense in the Portuguese league instead to save his career.

Nigeria's Olympic team in Rio
A benefactor is flying to Rio to hand $200,000 (£153,500) to the Nigerian Olympic team, in addition to his promise to pay a $30,000 (£23,000) bonus to each player if they win gold.
Japanese plastic surgeon Katsuya Takasu wants to reward the team after hearing about their financial difficulties.
He will pay them $20,000 (£15,350) for silver and $10,000 (£7,680) for bronze.
Takasu told BBC Sport the $200,000 "is a special donation" and "it is better to deliver it to the team personally".
He added: I've made previous donations to a Japanese hockey team and other notable causes in the past but this right now with Nigeria is incredibly passionate for me.
"I am deeply determined to motivate this indomitable and strong Nigerian team. I don't want to distract them but to push them further to their target - the gold in Brazil.
"I hope to see them win gold. They've sacrificed a lot to get to Brazil and reach the semi-finals. Humans with such a strong spirit should be encouraged to perform beyond their own imagination."

The Samson Siasia-led Nigeria team will face Germany in the semi-final on Wednesday and they will be without their top scorer with four goals - Ogenekaro Etebo - because of injury.
Before arriving in Rio, the 'Dream Team VI' were held up in Atlanta, USA, because of a problem with the payment for their flight.
The 1996 Olympic champions only landed in Brazil just hours before their opening 5-4 win over Japan.
Nigeria had a troubled build-up to their 2-0 quarter-final victory against Denmark in Salvador last weekend - the players boycotted a training session in a dispute over pay.
"I read about the financial problems affecting the team and I felt the need to make a big contribution," Takasu told BBC Sport.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are impressed by Takasu's offers but are being careful.
"I have been in direct contact with Mr Takasu and impressed by his gesture," NFF vice-president Seyi Akinwunmi told BBC Sport.
"But we need not get carried away because the integrity of the country is at stake.
"First we must check about this. Significantly, the team has an important game and we need to focus on that."
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Olympic team have now received their camp allowances from the government, according to the team's media officer Timi Ebikagboro.
"The sports ministry has cleared all camp allowances of the team in Brazil.
"Players and officials have now been paid 22 days allowances," said Ebikagboro.
