Funsho Williams (May 9, 1948 – July 27, 2006) was a Nigerian civil servant and politician.

Born Anthony Olufunsho Williams in Lagos, he attended the St. Paul's Catholic school at Ebute Metta and later St Gregory's College, Lagos. In 1968 he started at the University of Lagos, attaining a degree in civil engineering. He then went on to attend the New Jersey Institute of Technology for his Master's degree.[1]

In 1974 Williams returned to Nigeria and joined the Lagos State civil service. He spent the next 17 years working on construction projects in Lagos State. Approximately 70% of the roads and bridges were built under his stewardship. Williams was a Permanent Secretary by the time he left the civil service in 1991.

He went into business for himself, but he shortly returned to public service, as a Lagos state Commissioner under Colonel Olagunsoye Oyinlola's Military Administratorship.

In the mid 1990s, Williams decided to enter into politics for himself. In order that he could formulate policy, rather than just carry it out. He first joined the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP), but after the suspicious death of its leader General Sani Abacha he moved to the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

After a short time Williams again switched parties, this time to the People's Democratic Party (PDP).They had won the 2003 elections under the leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Williams had stood twice before in the Lagos State Governorship (Gubernatorial) election. At the time of his death he was hoping to be nominated as the PDP Gubernatorial candidate for Lagos State. He had vowed to wrest control of the wealthy state from the Alliance for Democracy Party.

Williams held directorships in several companies:

• Julius Berger Nigeria Plc
• Cappa and D'Alberto Plc
• Ajaokuta Steel Company
• Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Maritime Authority

On July 27, 2006 Williams' body was found at his home. He had been tied up, stabbed and strangled. On July 28, 2006, two people were arrested in connection with his death. One was his campaign manager, and the other was a Senator and former Works Minister Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe. Ogunlewe was also hoping to be the PDP Gubernatorial candidate.[2]. Williams is survived by his wife, Hilda, and four children.

So what have you been doing since 2012?

I have been doing some kind of promotions  but things have been a lot difficult .i worked for about  12 months with Coca Cola and Wempco,I have been to some shows since then though it has not been financially rewarding .

What Type of shows did you attend?

The shows I have been to are carnivals ,shows organized by friends .

Have You started working on an album?

I have not started to work on the album area but my promoters are at work in that regards and am also working at it.

Who is your promoter?

He is not based here in Nigeria but very soon I will disclose his full identities, Sometimes i do a  lot of work  on my own to strengthen my own genre of music  .

You hail from  Ado Ekiti in Ekiti State,have you done a show in your area?

No,I have been on stage  since I was seven years old and as at now  November9th ,2014 ,I clocked 33 years of age.

Is their any show that you will say was your best ?

I have had several shows in my musical life but my best shows is all about me

Which schools did you attend?

I attended Lagos Polytechnic to study business studies but it is still on-going.

I went to about three primary schools and they are L.A.School, Okeyinmi Primary School  ,Demonstration School and Anglican Primary School.

I also  attended Ado Grammar School in Ado Ekiti and Mary Hill Boys High School in Ado Ekiti  all in Ekiti State.

How many are you in your family?

My father is a polygamist  and he had several children but my mother had eight children in all that she gave birth to .

So where do you think you will be in five years from now on ?

Life goes on in different ways but I trust that God will direct all of my footsteps to the path that he really wants me to be in life.

Daily Times of Nigeria, the oldest surviving newspaper brand in Nigeria published continuously since 1926 is back in the streets.

The print media giant which almost became a corporate dinosaur was circulated nationwide in Nigeria, West Africa, East Africa, Europe and America at the peak of his glories ,with the high street brand  printing over 500,000 copies in ad day before the bubble busted.

The high street newspaper brand was associated with colorful figures in Nigerian newspaper folklore like Late Chief Anthony Enahoro, Mr Peter Enahoro,Aremo Olusegun Osoba,Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi,Dr Onukaba Adinoyi-Ojo,Late Alhaji Babatunde Jose,Chief Yemi Farounbi among so many others too numerous to mention.

The brand endured a torrid time in the last eight years as gladiators took other apart and only the law courts intervened in the end  with the future of the company under serious doubt but eventually sanity returning to the outfit as preferred bidder when the Bureau for Public Enterprises [B.P.E]sold the firm,Folio Communications Limited won the landmark court ruling against the Nigerian Union of Journalists[N.U.J] and recently opened its newspaper business arm again after re-opening online for well over a year now.

Once upon a time,Ms Ijeoma Nwogwugu ,now Editor of the Thisday Newspapers acting on pecuniary interests as an insider of the BPE is said to have sold the secrets of the bidding exercise to Folio Communications Limited at the expense of the workers of the then Daily Times of Nigeria who wanted to ignite a management buy out arrangement for the future of the brand.

Daily Times Nigeria Plc in the past had such editorial titles like Drum Magazine, TIMES International ,Home Studies, Headlines, Business Times, Sporting Times ,Daily Times, Daily Times on Saturday, Sunday Times, Lagos Weekend just to mention but a few.

Daily Times of Nigeria in the past had fixed assets like real estates in the old 19 states of Nigeria  aside owning prime real estates in the metropolitan city of Lagos among which includes the imposing architectural landmark in Kakawa sreeet: The Nigerian stock Exchange, Lagos.

A prime property is also believed to have been owned by the firm in the city of London, United Kingdom, the company also owns a beauty pageant trademark called Miss Nigeria.
