Ekumeku was launched by
the Anioma Igbos against British dominion is now being tagged as the most
successful guerrilla warfare in the history of African geo-politics.
In his submissions
recently, one of the renowned names in the African literary scenes ,Mr Chuma
Nwokolo said that the war which lasted for about 14 years at around 1914 precisely.
He noted that it was the
war that allowed the amalgamation of the Northern block and the Southern
protectorates ,contrary to genera notion on same subject before now on Nigeria.
He explained that it was
pretty difficult to break down the militias from the Anioma nation as they were
so organized that they did and achieved whatever they wanted at the time.
He acknowledged the fact
that Ekumeku militia was not spoken of highly in the same mould like the Mau
Mau uprising because the latter became prominent in several literary discourse due to
the fact that the Whites settled in Kenya
The War Room and Defence strategic Desk of this medium will now expect The Nigerian Armed Forces to study the blueprint of the success of Ekumeku as a way of breaking down the fierce some Boko Haram.
It would be recalled that several months ago,this medium also advised the Nigerian Armed Forces to take a speedy look at how Algeria ended years of terror activities
