O GOD, MITIGATE OUR WORKERS' WOES!
* It's May Day or call it the 'WORKERS DAY'.
Ordinarily, we are supposed to be celebrating the rich, robust and people-friendly conditions of the workers at both the public and private sectors.
But sad to say, not here in Nigeria and not with the Coronavirus pandemic becoming an excuse to show the wickedness in some of our so called leaders!
*Except for the federal government that has given an assurance to protect its workers from job losses, through the Labour Minister, Dr. Chris Ngige others are giving their workers tales of woes!
*For instance, Access Bank that recently went to town to announce the donation of a whopping N1billion to the FG in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic is bringing tears of agony to several families across the country.
Apart from laying off 800 helpless workers, those lucky to be retained will not smile home with 40% of their usual salaries!
Na by force to donate to the federal government?
Wickedness has no other name.
*Trust some of our heartless state governors- while some are threatening to lay off workers, others are telling them to brace up for pay cuts ranging from 25% to 50%!
God have MERCY!
* But former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar showed none when he laid off some 46 members of staff on Workers Day!
* My growing worry over these issues are the grave implications for the country.Joblessness will trigger mass poverty that may snowball into sundry crimes.
* In all these, where is the NLC?!!!
* My brothers and sisters these are dangerous times.
*Stay SAFE and SMILE!
