RIO:JOHN OBI MIKEL IS PLAYER OF TOURNEY
PAEDIA EXPRESS EDITORIAL BOARD COMMENT
COLLECTING THE CASH FROM THE JAPANESE SURGEON  WHO LOVED NIGERIAN BRAND OF SOCCER

John Obi Mikel was head and shoulders ahead  of all the footballers that played in the male category of the football event at the just concluded Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.
At the Olympic games .playing in a more offensive  Midfield position as compared to what he plays at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea Football Club in London ,England ,Mikel kept all around the world of football spell bound with his visionary passes ,flicks, feigns, shots, assists and goal during the fiesta.
If he was not the goal scorer ,he was always not far away as he helped the nation ,Nigeria to salvage what may have been a tragic soccer campaign as he carried the entire team behind him ..
The Nigerian under 23 football team was missing in the services of at least 8 established internationals that the coaching crew had penciled down for the showpiece but who all had to pull out for one reason or the other.
Though Neymar’s Brazil won the gold eventually but the embarrassing riches in terms of talent available to them  and the merit of playing at home made life more easier for the Brazilians.
The Germans on the other hand had a full complement of players who were already household names in the Bundesliga  save for Arsenal of Englands wonder boy,Serge Gnabry  who became the lynchpin of a fearsome strike force comprising the like of Mier, the Bender brothers just to name but a few.
Mention and tributes must also be paid to such stars like Williams Trost Ekong of K.A.A Ghent of Belgium now on loan in Norway,Oghenekaro Etebo of Farense in Portugal ,Umar Sadiq of A.S. Roma in Italy who could be on his way to Crotone in the new season and Imoh Ezekiel of Al Arabi in Qatar.
Ezekiel has also played for two Belgian club giants in football: Standard Liege and Anderlecht in Belgium and a lot will be expected of him and all the others in the years to come.
