Nipen,the manufacturer of ball writing device :Bic and the official sponsors of the 2017  The Nigerian Child Friendly Awards has dealt the organizers a hard blow.

The blue chip with its global corporate office said to be in Sweden had promised the Child Safety Initiative Report initiative ,a sum of N10million to enable it stage a very successful award ceremony but eventually reneged on there earlier promises as it gave out a paltry N350,000 after its European Head office was said to have pulled the plug on the arrangement according to findings.

In a world exclusive investigations by The News Office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos,Nigeria ,it was discovered that Africa’s richest man and top philanthropist  through his foundation were believed to have promised to give the organizers of the awards  N1million   .

Feelers suggests that the Governor of Lagos state,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode apart from gracing the event was also planning to dole out something as financial aid to the charitable cause .

As at press time ,on the 11^th February,2017 nothing as yet concrete has come from the state government on the much touted financial largesse from them.

Life Patron of the agency,Mrs Annette Adeoba  thanked the gathering for felicitating with the children and enjoined that they should be treated and held in high esteem wherever they are to be found globally .

She appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to help the agency in the area of donation as sponsors have not being forthcoming on their planned water project .

a short presentation from children was done to the delight of the gathering at the event which took place recently at the Sheraton Hotels in Lagos,Nigeria.

In his own contributions , the Deputy provost of the Nigerian Institute of Journalists [N.I.J],Mr Jide Johnson said that the media was so vital that it can be deployed to the usage of a child as an agent of social change .

He made a critical  reference to the child Rights acts while taking a dig at parents that abuse their children saying that the right of children ironically are the foundations upon which human rights is built upon.

He explained that  they at the N.I.J. in conjunction with UNICEF came out with a blueprint on how to report the issues surrounding the lives of our children very recently.

According to him, nations that develop very well depends on how much time ,energy and resources they devote to the children .

He noted that there should be an in-depth coverage given to all issues pertaining to our children while taking a swipe at schools or institutions that even deny students and pupils some forms of representations politically.

He urged that harmful cultural practices be stopped as he insisted that those that employ the usage of house boy or house girls to take care of their children should go to jail as they are using other people ‘s children to train theirs in a what is a form of servitude .

He also added that he wondered how it will be if there was no media at all for people to engage in various forms of national and global discourse .

Award presentations was later done with various organizations ,individuals carting away prizes to the delight of the gathering.

A representative of the Lagos state Governor , Mr Akinwunmi Ambode while collecting the award for the Most Child friendly Governor  reiterated that it was mandatory that all state related agencies  take the child rights acts seriously after congratulating the organizers of the awards for a job well done.

Just as The News Office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia Group was about to hit the press, news filtered in that instead of N350,000 as earlier on expected , NIPEN only gave the organizers a sum of N310,000,Pastor Temitope Joshua of Synagogue Church of All Nations gave out a sum of N500,000 as support to the cause.

Checks also showed that Berger Paints Plc gave out a sum of N400,000 while the news of Dangote  Foundation giving out N 1million to the organizers was believed to have ran into a hitch as at press time.  

Aviation power house and Dutch Airliner :KLM are said to have given out some flight tickets to the organizers of the awards  instead of raw cash with beverage and dairy producer:Bobo also giving some cash but the exact amount that the last donor gave out was not stated to this reporter.
