DIARY OF A LOCKDOWN BY AYO BAJE

DIARY OF A LOCKDOWN (28):
Sunday, April 26, 2020:
TIME TO STRENGTHEN THE FAMILY BOND:
QUOTE:
"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you"- John 15vs12.
* It's a Sunday but with the lockdown because of the Coronavirus pandemic, members of my family share the words of God, as led by the Holy Spirit. It is 1 Chronicles verses 9-14.
* The focus is on the sacrifice by the Israelites when David ruled as King over them.
The sacrifices came so willingly from their hearts that God was happy with all of them.
David became so overwhelmed that he enthused:
" Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever.
"Yours, O LORD is the GREATNESS, the POWER and the GLORY, the VICTORY and the MAJESTY". Verses 10 and 11.
* Verse 12 adds that:" Both RICHES and HONOUR come from YOU and you reign over all".
* The lesson we gain from these verses is that God has all the answers that anyone would need to succeed in life. But first we must accord Him that singular honour and do so in UNITY.
* That brings to mind the issues that families face in this trying time. We all need to be safe and secured. We need money to survive, we need food to eat and stay healthy.
So, how do we access all these during a lockdown characterised by policy flip-flops, absence or inadequate palliatives, panic and apprehension of what tomorrow holds for us?
* God has answers for us all. As members of a family we are like spokes of a bicycle; to be there for one another, complementing our individual efforts.
Where one is weak, the other should be there to assist.
* Communication is key, to understanding our specific situations. We have to reach out to ask of members who are resident in other countries, especially where cases and deaths are on the high side and how they are coping with the lockdown.
* We share vital information, assist with food, drugs and money.
For, the Holy Bible states that:
"But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever".1 Timothy 5:8.
* For me, the unity inherent in our family as passed down through the generations has assisted us to enjoy the favour of the unfailing God.

* We pray that Coronavirus goes with the social distancing, so that we can celebrate more family victories in Jesus Christ's name.
*Stay SAFE with your family.
