The attention of the entire global community as it concerns
Literary Arts is now on Nigeria where the 14th Nigerian International
Book Fair is opening at about now in Lagos.
At its recent world Press
Conference held in Lagos,The Chairman of the Nigerian International Book
Fair,Alhaji Rilwanu Abdulsalam said that a lot of exhibitors were been expected
from as far as places like Pakistan, India, United Kingdom, United Arab
Emirates ,Ghana, Germany among other places as the book fair continues to get
bigger yearly.
Alhaji Abdusalam said that part
of the problems the book publishing industry was facing at the moment was the fact
that the youths were not been properly empowered by stakeholders.
He assured that each year ,the
theme for each edition was chosen by the Board of Trustees for the fair based on special situations on hand
at each time.
In his own submission,The
Executive Secretary of the body,Mr Biodun Omotubi said that there radio jingles and other forms of commercials targeted
at increasing the publicity for the fair will soon go on air .
He told the gathering at the
event that there were other regional initiatives targeted at meeting the demands
of book fair enthusiasts who could not make it to the Lagos International Fair .
It was learnt that part of the
ideals of project was in making sure that the Nigerian child sees reading as a
legacy for the future.
