N.I.B.F APPLAUDS ECOWAS BOOK TARIFF REGIME

The Nigerian International Book Fair Trust, organisers
of the annual Nigerian International Book Fair have hailed the endorsement by
all West African nations their proposal on adoption of the book tariff.
In his recent speech at a world press conference
organised in Lagos to pre pare for the 14th edition of the fair
holding in Lagos next week, the Chairman, Alhaji Abdulsalami Rilwan urged all
stakeholders to do everything possible to raise the book culture in Nigeria and
beyond.
He assured that this year things will be a bit
different as school owners and there respective principals will feature in a
summit that will during the fair.
Alhaji Rilwanu who also doubles as the Chairman of
the Nigerian Library Association listed such things like free internet facility,
big publicity as some of the features that makes this years edition more interesting
than those of previous years.
The Charted Librarian told the gathering that this
years fair will give ever Nigerian the merit of buying books, accessing new
developments ,networking among others.
Executive Secretary of the body,Mr Abiodun
Omotubi told the gathering that they did
not just arrive at the date for the event but based on a global framework with
there foreign partners.
He revealed that plans had been concluded by the
body to do a general road show by next
week.
