I SHARE IN YOUR PAINS, ORTOM TELLS BENUE PEOPLE

Governor Samuel Ortom at a town hall meeting in Makurdi disclosed that he shares in the pains of the Benue populace.
The Governor who was represented by the Benue State Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals, Hon. Bernard Unenge stated that he understands what the Masses are passing through, emphasizing that, he is deeply sadened by the impact of the present economic realities on the Benue people.
The Governor said, he is impressed by the level of compliance of the Agricultural policies of his Government as that is the way to go, since the country can no longer depend on oil, he therefore urged the people to be more prayerful as he trust in God to overcome the challenges soon.
He said the essence of the meeting is to interact with the people to know their feelings about the government, and together chat a way forward for the development of the State.
The Governor's representative called on the People to be patient with the present administration as they are working tirelessly to ensure the People are happy as the government will continue to provide dividends of democracy.
Also speaking the zone B leader of APC,Chief Akange Audu said, the APC led government came to deliver change but encountered so many problems of which many predates this administration, however stated that the APC government accepts the responsibility towards finding a lasting solution.
Chief Akange said the governor is doing his best but the dwindling economic fortunes, is overshadowing his best, he appealed to the people to be patient as the government intends to fix the rot soon.
On her part, the Executive Chairman, Makurdi Local Government Area, Honourable, Mrs Juliana Akange expressed confidence that the Governor will clear salaries before December this year, stressing that, this can only be achieved with collective prayers.
She acknowledged, the State government achievements in the areas of Security, Agriculture, Education, Health, rural electrification, and road construction, among others.
Other speakers were, Hon. Godwin Donko, Hon. Mark Hanmation, Hon. Mrs. Lim Gom, Bar. Moses Ordam, Mr. Ahidjo Gaadi, Rachel Ityonzughul all thanked the Governor for his pesistence in explaining to the people about his achievements and challenges through such avenue, praying that God should help him succeed.
The town hall meeting was organized by the Forum of the Governor's appointees from Makurdi LG, in conjunction with the office of the Chairman, Makurdi LGA, to interact with the People on government's policies, achievements, shortcomings, prospects and the way forward.
Questions were entertained from Members of the Civil society, religious bodies, Traditional and Community leaders, pressure groups, Women and youth groups as well as some Associations within Makurdi.
