Holyrood Palace is a wonderful place to visit. While walking through the portrait gallery, I could not miss seeing Kenneth and Malcomb McAlpin, both Kings of Scotland and my own predecessors, some 1,200 years earlier ( 834 A. D. ). It was a thrill to see their portraits and to know they are related to my family and ruled so many years ago. Therefore, this place is quite a "gem."
