SUPER EAGLES WINS THRILLER IN ALEXANDRIA.
Some moments ago,The Nigerian senior soccer team:The Super
Eagles came back from within the whiskers of a possible elimination when it
defeated the indomitable Lions of Cameroun by three goals to two in the
scorching heat of Alexandria.
The game which started at around Five o clock local time saw
the Nigerian team unexpectedly dictating the pace of the game but for poor marksmanship
that robbed them of early goals until the 19th minute when Shanghai Shenhua of
China's golden boy Odhion Ighalo opened the floodgates with a jab during a goal mouth scramble that
appeared was aided in by a Lion defender but which nonetheless was credited to
the Nigerian.
After this early misfortune ,the Cameroonians took up the
gauntlet with christain Bassogog,Clinton Njie leading the charge up front as
they teased and harassed the Nigerian team with the latter enduring the show.
Against the run of play in the last five minutes of the
first stanza ,the losers turn the game on its head as it ran into a two goal
cushion while asking the Nigerians to play catch up.
In the second half the Super eagles responded with the likes
of Ahmed Musa,Alex Iwobi and Ighalo combining skills beautifully with further
goals by both ighalo and iwobi proving Nigeria's superiority on the day to the
delight of the watching fans at home.
