ELDERS OVER 70 YEARS FETED IN LAGOS,NIGERIA.
Dr Tosin Isa Mohammed ,The Group Medical Director of Our
Friend Hospital in Ifako Ijaiye,Lagos,Nigeria has been counting his
blessings and that is the mere fact that
fate has allowed him to give back to the society after it denied him somewhat
as a child.
While reiterating his believes in his wonderful works,he
insisted that he came up against all sorts of prejudice before he could set up
the project and noted that he has
finally succeeded at it because God was involved from the word go.
He revealed that the hospital was given some level of
advantages to elders of the land who are now over 70 years and above and have
little or no body to cater for them.
He assured that some people actually have an idea of their
health crisis but they cannot help
themselves due to little or no finance at all and this is why they are been given
concessions in terms of discounts and service fees.
He went down memory lane and told the gathering that he lost
his father in 1975 and then his mother
died at the age of 67 years and for both
of this reasons he has remained passionate about supporting those over 70 years
of age.
In teaching about nutrition ,the medical doctor spoke extensively ,urging that people should
watch how they eat when they clock the age of 40 years ,pointing out that it
was a good and healthy practice to drink clean and good water at all times for people who are elderly.
He advised the gathering to watch their intakes of such
foods like barbecue, caffeine ,alcohol, cigarette, Indian hemp as they can
eventually lead to stroke
The medical analysts also urged those at the event to make
sure that they do not eat any type of food at night as it was not very good for
the advanced in age..
