MR FEMI ADESHINA IN A NATION WHERE CORRUPTION IS A NATIONAL SYMBOL KEPT A N200 MILLION BUDGET IN THE GUILD EDITORS ACCOUNT WITHOUT IT DEVELOPING LEGS
Femi
Adeshina was on Saturday
re-elected unopposed as the President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE,
the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
Mr.
Adeshina along with some executive members of the association were returned
unopposed during the 2015 Biennial Convention of the NGE held in Lagos.
The
other executive members re-elected were Garbadeen Mohammed as Deputy President,
Suleiman Gaya as Vice President North; Victor Agusiobo,as Vice President East
and Steve Ayorinde as Vice President West.
Others
are Assistant General Secretary Mary Atolagbe; Treasurer Ogbang Akwaji and
Social and Publicity Secretary Funke Egbemode.
However,
the post of National Secretary was contested for by Victoria Ibanga and
Mustapha Isah.
Mrs.
Ibanga won the position with115 votes against Mr. Isah’s 103 votes.
A
Deputy Editor-in-Chief at the News Agency of Nigeria, Sani Adamu, was among the
seven persons who won membership of the Guild’s Standing Committee.
