Express Multimedia has gathered exclusively that smoking heat in a fully packed
latrine or cemented toilet was more deadly than the dreaded cocaine.
In many rural areas in and around
Africa, there is more of this type of toilet in usage which does not induce
heat.
In an exclusive investigation ,an
impeccable source in the Nigerian Police Force said that he has been in the
team of crack law enforcers who have
arrested “Smoking toilet” addicts in the
past.
He revealed that there was a growing
trend of a large number of “toilet smokers”in the Oko-Oba abattoir area in
Lagos, Nigeria.
“Smoking Toilet” is the art of
inhaling the heat oozing out of a pit latrine ,so as to satisfy the consumer in
the mould of conventional tobacco smoking.

Multimedia that most of the victims of this unhealthy practice usually have
sores all over their body.
The source affirmed that since most
of the addicts have graduated from smoking cigarettes, marijuana , opium,
heroine and cocaine ,they have graduated into this to achieve satisfaction.
Yet another source confirmed the
“smoking Toilet” theory .
His words:”I know a man in Agege who
looks clean and well dressed and yet he was pointed out to me as somebody who
likes to smoke the toilet”
“If you inhale petroleum fumes and
if you pour an evostik into a nylon bag and inhale it too I can assure you that this is also very
powerful”
“in fact if three people were to
beat up the consumer of the evostik gum
with clubs or sticks he will not know as he would have lost consciousness totally”
“This is why train normally kills
people around Agege and Abattoir areas
as we have a lot of addict around those areas”
In the same vein, another source
told this reporter that other drugs can be created from the faecal droplets of
lizard and codeine while confirming the
smoking toilet phenomena as a major health threat now in Nigeria and beyond.
The source explained that the faecal
droplets of lizards if collected ,sun dried very well and sniffed was a very potent drug.
He noted that initially a pharmaceutics
like codeine was not taken seriously by drug addicts but when they analyzed its
constituents they soon discovered that it was very promising.
Yet another source apart from
confirming the smoking toilet phenomena ,also insisted that the character trait
of such was prevalent among the Hausa ‘s from the Northern part of Nigeria.
He revealed that this account for
the high incidence in trains crushing pedestrians around the Agege area always.
He also pointed out that the
adhesive gums used to patch a damaged rubber tube tyre used for vehicles was
also a very potent drug when its fumes are sniffed or if taken in its raw
liquid form.
He lamented that at some point the
Nigerian Police was charging a paltry
N5,000 to bail people smoking toilet but they soon discovered that the families
of those arrested were no longer interested in them and as such they too soon
lost interest in apprehending such offenders .
In a related issue, Nigerian
business woman, Mrs Fatima Mohammed who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer
of Sisi Oge fashions in Lagos has also
related to this reporter about the level of poor public health in Dakar
,Senegal’ saying the rains always expose the rot in the Senegalese system.
