HUNGER RUNS THROUGH THE LAND
BY ABDULMUMINI ADEKU..
In what may appear a vote -of- no -confidence in the
management of the nation's economy by the present regime of Muhammadu Buhari of
Nigeria, the nation is currently witnessing a dire consequence of its poor
handling of the persistent strikes of deadly Fulani Herdsmen on people of the
Midlands.
Checks by The News office Desk of the E.N.M Paedia Express
Multimedia Group of Lagos,Nigeria shows that food supply from the nation's food
basket ,Benue State was actually waning.
An impeccable source from Katisna Ala Local Government Area
of Benue State which has being widely
hailed for having largest Yam Producing farms and corresponding barns said that
farmers were finding it pretty difficult to go to the farms to observe their
daily chores.
He specifically singled out Zanu Ibiam ,a village in the
area as being the worst hit in the course of the on -going crisis caused by
cattle rustlers.
Yet another source said that there had never being a time in
the nation's history when tomato was more expensive than apple than a situation that arose in 2016 but will quickly add that the situation has
already normalized but that it may return if care was not taken.
He attributed the shift in Tomato pricing at the time to the
perennial war between the Fulani Herdsmen and the local farmers.
