PAEDIA EXPRESS WRITES F.I.F.A OVER GIWA,PINNICK FEUD
MR GIANNI INFANTINO,
F.I.F.A PRESIDENT,
Dear Sir,
on behalf of the global news media brand's Policy and
Editorial Board of the E.N.M.Paedia Express Multimedia Group of Lagos,Nigeria
,we wish you good tidings and we hope that this meets you and your colleagues
at the Federation of the International Football Association F.I.F.A very well
after a hectic one month of an extravaganza celebrating the best of football's heritage in several Russian cities at the football
world cup :2018 ,welcome back to your base in Switzerland.
Sir,we are writing you on behalf of the 200 million
Nigerians ,the sanctity of the laws of our land and our avowed commitment to
the cause of true justice ,fairness, equity, transparency and other areas of
human Endeavour..with respects to human or civil rights and as such we plead
with you and your colleagues not to use your sledge hammer to ban Nigeria over the
crisis in leadership on who is the
President of the Nigerian Football Federation between Mr Amaju Pinnick and Mr
Chris Giwa:both of whom look very knowledgeable about football affairs and are passionate
about the game and represent a lot of
things as far as the administrative image of Nigerian and African football
affairs were concerned.
It is a widely known fact that court cases in the area of sports are only handled by the
courts of arbitration on sports [C.A.S.]but the crux of the matter s that no
known law in the history of mankind is 100 percent fool proof as laws are
always amended when they are challenged continuously by prevailing circumstances.
The United Nations is the most powerful single institution
globally and yet respects the constitution and laws of member nations and to
which all are signatories to most especially on human rights.
We do believe that F.I.F.A is not more powerful than the
United Nations to which they are either an affiliate or a partner.
Mr Chris Giwas is a human being who has blood flowing
through his veins and this we believe
was why he had gone ahead to sue at the C.A.S and when he felt he was not
treated well with the facts that he presented he had most likely seeked a legal
opinion and had decided to go to a civil court to try and see what fortunes
awaited him in terms of interpretations.
This took him to the Nigerian Federal High Courts and the
Supreme Courts of Justice and all of
this time without any forms of recourse to destruction of public property or
manhandling any of his political opponents physically and for this we do
believe he should be commended highly by all and sundry.
We were surprised that Almighty F.I.F.A who had come to
Nigeria to beg our government to support its during its own time of needs so as
to help promote the art and culture of football by hosting the F.I.F.A under 17
world soccer tournament and the F.I.F.A under 21 world soccer championship in
the past and to which we did our utmost best can now say that we should
disrespect our own laws.
As far as we do know
,The Supreme Courts of Justice of Nigeria just like in other nations of the
world are the final arbiter of human justice and to disobey its rulings is
tantamount to encouraging chaos ,an act The Editorial and Policy Board of the
E.N.M. Paedia Express Multimedia Group of Lagos, Nigeria will not encourage no
matter the form of inducement used to that effect.
Law is made for man and not that man is made for law ,come to think of it
sometimes in the early part of the last century
the laws of South Africa which favored racial discrimination was that the
Whites and blacks must never fraternized but this was
challenged .
the world view of Calabar people of South South Nigeria was that every
twins given birth to must have to be killed
but a certain Scottish missionary
by names :Mary Slessor halted this demonic practice.
Till date :The Masai's of Kenya and certain caste systems of
the Hindu nation will not eat beef but will rather prepare its blood as a meal
but both majority will see these as odd and this type of practice will remain
prevalent in such societies except a revolutionary with a clear cut argument
,facts and figures which challenges such a world view.
The fact is that aspect of F.I.F.A rule that says that
people should never go to civil courts is becoming obsolete and this is
conflicting with the 21st century realities , may- be it is time to re-amend F.I.F.A works with globally renowned corporate
partners and sponsors who all are made to subscribe to the respective laws of
the nations they operate and since F.I.F.A. has never asked them or anyone of
them to disobey its nation's laws we find Mr Chrs Giwa's persecution by F.I.F.A
as highly unfortunate .
Let it be noted that we do not have anything against the
person of Mr Pinnick but we speak genuinely out of concern for a
sport that is Nigeria's number one public relations tool.
Couple of years ago ,there was a major earthquake in
football when a player by name Mr Jean
Mac Bosman had taken stakeholders to court over a case of poor response and
treatment to his injuries which led to the early end of his football career.
This incident led to a change in player's transfer's
,welfare amongst other things and this was because Bosman took the tiger by the
tail by helping to create a platform for
reforms by taking his fight to the European Courts of Justice, a purely civil
court.
At the time ,Bosman knew of the existence of the C.A.S but
did not take his case there but opted to
go to a civil court to handle a purely football matter and so why was Belgium
not sanctioned?
Today Mr Chris Giwa has found himself in somewhat similar
scenarios and we plead for a thorough understanding of the situation.
A precedent was set that day as F.I.F.A turned a blind eye
to the incident and life moved on as usual.
In the coming months ,we will hope that rather than F.I.F.A
treating Mr Chris Giwas as an enemy they will invite him and Mr Pinnick to the
same round table so as to form a common ground for teh future especially
through an out of court settlement..
We think that is better this way than for F.I.F.A to tell
Nigerians to disobey her own laws as this is tantamount to another round of Neo
-colonialism.
Yours Faithfully,
Abdulmumini Adeku..
