Association of Ogun State Indigenes in Ireland celebrates the good people, the
great norms and the rich cultures of the people of the State in a one day colorful
fiesta that is preceded by various events that sets the tone of the Festival
long before the actual ceremony (12th – 14th September
2014).
In
a bid to expand the frontiers of the event, the organizers have incorporated
the Lady of Africa Empowerment and Advocacy Foundation; owners of the Adire
Street Culture Carnival Concept as its Africa based Partner.
As
a result of the partnership arrangement, the 2014 event will witness the
adoption of the Adire Clothing material which originated in the old Egba province
of the then Western Nigeria, now known as Ogun State as the Official Attire for
the year’s festival.
The
Adire Street Culture Carnival is a project conceived to aid down trodden and
challenged Nigerians in particular and Africans as a whole, deploying the
pooling of resources as a veritable tool.
Local
clothing materials especially the Adire portraysone of the major cultural
heritagesof the Ogun people and define what we are as a people.

2014 edition of the Carnival which will also showcase various indigenous
cuisines of the people of Ogun State will be entertained by a number of
Artistes from Nigeria, including Ireland based in an event that is expected to
attract over 10,000 indigenes and guests from across the globe.
In
view of the kick-off of the Adire Street Style, the most important thing is
that whoever is coming must wear Adire,

Office of the Lady of Africa Empowerment and Advocacy Foundation and at the
Headquarters of the Association of Ogun State Indigenes in Ireland.
For
the Lady of Africa Empowerment and Advocacy Foundation, its profit will be
channeled into tackling some of the problems facing the people of Nigeria as an
individual and as a group of persons. The Foundation also plans to fund the
development of a Cancer Treatment Hospital and Research Centre, where cancer
patients will be treated while the Centre will also accommodate researchers
from across the globe.’While AOSII - a registered charity in Ireland channel
funds generated from activities towards poverty alleviation projects in Ogun
state local communities.
That
is why “We are calling on corporate organizations and individuals to partner
with us because this is a noble course. Our dream is to make the Carnival one
of the biggest in the World and ensure that the people of the World learn and
understand the people of Ogun.
