ADIRE STREET CULTURE HITS DUBLIN IN STYLE

The Association of Ogun State Indigenes in Ireland celebrates the good people, the great norms and the rich cultures of the people of the State in a one day colorful fiesta that is preceded by various events that sets the tone of the Festival long before the actual ceremony (12th – 14th September 2014).
In a bid to expand the frontiers of the event, the organizers have incorporated the Lady of Africa Empowerment and Advocacy Foundation; owners of the Adire Street Culture Carnival Concept as its Africa based Partner.
As a result of the partnership arrangement, the 2014 event will witness the adoption of the Adire Clothing material which originated in the old Egba province of the then Western Nigeria, now known as Ogun State as the Official Attire for the year’s festival.
The Adire Street Culture Carnival is a project conceived to aid down trodden and challenged Nigerians in particular and Africans as a whole, deploying the pooling of resources as a veritable tool.
Local clothing materials especially the Adire portraysone of the major cultural heritagesof the Ogun people and define what we are as a people.
The 2014 edition of the Carnival which will also showcase various indigenous cuisines of the people of Ogun State will be entertained by a number of Artistes from Nigeria, including Ireland based in an event that is expected to attract over 10,000 indigenes and guests from across the globe.
In view of the kick-off of the Adire Street Style, the most important thing is that whoever is coming must wear Adire, which will come in different designs and will be available in Nigeria at the Office of the Lady of Africa Empowerment and Advocacy Foundation and at the Headquarters of the Association of Ogun State Indigenes in Ireland.
For the Lady of Africa Empowerment and Advocacy Foundation, its profit will be channeled into tackling some of the problems facing the people of Nigeria as an individual and as a group of persons. The Foundation also plans to fund the development of a Cancer Treatment Hospital and Research Centre, where cancer patients will be treated while the Centre will also accommodate researchers from across the globe.’While AOSII - a registered charity in Ireland channel funds generated from activities towards poverty alleviation projects in Ogun state local communities.
That is why “We are calling on corporate organizations and individuals to partner with us because this is a noble course. Our dream is to make the Carnival one of the biggest in the World and ensure that the people of the World learn and understand the people of Ogun.
