SUPER!!HONOUR FOR ABIOLA,KINGIBE,FAWENHINMI
Though politically driven, Nigerians should not begrudge the
decisions of President Muhammadu Buhari on the awards given to Late Chief
Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola,Ambassador Babagana Kingibe and the Late Chief
Gani Fawenhinmi.
Though Chief Fawenhinmi refused to openly support Mr
Abdulmumini ireyi Adeku of Paedia Express when the media baron went to him to
complain of the forgery of his reports at The Guardian and at The Comet
Newspapers even with naked evidence to
back it up but we dare say that the honor given to him in death is in order and
long overdue and we should not make undue political capital out of this.
We do recall that when Late Chief Moshood Abiola's names
replaced that of the University of Lagos ,Nigeria in an efforts targeted at immortalization
in the run up to the 2015 general polls in statements credited to the then
President,Dr Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan ,this same group of politicians
now in power latched out on the occasion to play politics in cahoot with some
dubious sections of the Nigerian Press and at the end the mileage was lost.
It is particularly note worthy that Buhari did this in the
honour and memory of Bashorun
Abiola a man who shelled out a fortune
to remove him from power in 1985,may Almighty Allah at this special period of
the Ramadan bless President Muhammadu Buhari and his entire household for this
singular decisions irrespective of any reservations some persons might have.,though
it could be argued again that Mr President did this to spite Former President
Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida fue to his refusal to back him for the 2019
elections but it is all very well and a good decision.
God works in very mysterious ways,he uses the foolish things
of this world to confirm the wise but as humans we can have our say but God is
the ultimate decision maker and it goes the way he wants it.
We should all learn to respect Muhammadu Buhari's regime on
this decision as he is The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
and as such the constitution gives him such a prerogative irrespective of any
reservations some people have.
We pray and hope that more Nigerians will pursue the PATH OF
HONOUR AND FOLLOW A GOOD NAME as the
years roll by.
It could not have come at a better time as the Theme for the
