N50Million Dangote Cement “Disco”cause fracas at The Nation Newspapers

By Abdulmumini Adeku.
The Nation Newspapers owned by Multi-billionaire Nigerian Politician, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in a state of crisis.
Investigations by Paedia Express Multimedia in Lagos over the incident revealed that the main crux of the matter is that a N50 Million naira cement racket by some members of the editorial unit of the company pitched them against the top echelon of the company in a major boardroom affair that led to some of them been asked to step aside to save the company’s image.
It was learned that Mr Ayo Aminu ,a famous business journalist who is now getting rave reviews for soiling his fingers rather than enriching his professional arsenal was in the news again for the wrong reasons.
It was learned that he was asked to re-organize his desk but unknown to the management of the company he was on the books of several banks as a consultant and as such did not have the moral rights to wield the biog stick in his supposed assignment.
It was gathered that in the course of doing his job ,re -assigned the labor editor and the capital market correspondent and this led to a near fracas which eventually led to some of those involved facing a disciplinary committee said to have been chaired by Mr Wale Edun,Former Lagos State Commissioner for Finance and a Tinubu camp strongman.
In a related issue, Ashiwaju Tinubu is said to have washed his hands off the incident when he returned from his recent medical trip overseas as he insisted that the vital authorities will take care of the matter.
As at press time, Mrs Dupe Olaoye-Oshinkolu,Tolu Anthonia Osundolire and Ayo Aminu  are said to be tentatively out of the company’s pay roll..
It would be recalled that Ayo Aminu was also part of a Thisday advert fiasco  which pitched him with his famous publisher, Mr Nduka Obaigbena as  N40 Million naira wrap around advert was paid into his own personal account instead of that of Thisday and this eventually forced his hands into tendering his resignation.
A lot of people in Nigerian media circle believe that Mr Ayo Aminu may be the richest non-publishing media executive still very active on the field in the Nigerian newspaper industry till today.
