The Alternative Power Exhibition has already started in Ernest in Lagos,Nigeria with the opening ceremonies well attended by de crème de la crème of The Nigerian political and  corporate sector in full attendance at the impressive and imposing sporting edifice:Teslim Balogun Stadium in Central Lagos suburb of Surulere.
The entrance of the event venue leaves no one in any form of doubt as to who what was happening at the venue as the music blaring out from the loudspeakers is enough to arrest the attention of any passer -by or even a pedestrian walking around the area.
The level of advertising and marketing the edifice allows all the key participants is mind blowing as at least 100,000 Nigerians  pass by the area on  a daily basis thus exposing all the icons that participated  in the area the maximum benefit for a wider audience and acceptance.
Firms like Astevens Group,Zouis Energy,Solar Direct,Arthur Energy Technology,Folub Elektric Servz,Omatek Computers,U.A.C.N. Properties Plc,Covenant University Energy Research Centre were active participants and exhibitors at this year’s fiesta.
The cynosure of all eyes which seems to have generated the most interest among the consumers who have showed up to make enquiries was the Arton branded Solar powered tricycle which was on display and available for any buyer at the rate of N950,000.
This reporter gathered that the machine with two major engine compartment using five batteries had a warranty of at least five years for any consumer that wished to buy it for keeps.
In an exclusive interview with the News Office Desk of Paedia Express Multimedia in his company’s stands at the expo, the corporate sales Manager of Omatek Computers Plc,Mr Joseph Dada said that the only reason why they were getting involved in the expo was because they were aware that the nation has found itself in a very difficult situation and it was high time that it provides a succor.
He assured that they were working in tandem with feedbacks they were getting from other stake holders in the trade.
He recalled that it was their timely attention that saved the situation in  May,2016 when there was a riot in Lagos,Nigeria due to power outage  as they provided a solution that helped to power the hostel of at least 500 students.
He disclosed that the University of Lagos,Nigeria’s data centre was powered by its facilities  as they provide solutions that could reduce power consumptions by 75 percent.
His words:”we have a bulb called energy saver,it is just 25 watts but with Omatek  L .E.D bulb ,it is just 7watts and 3watts and it is not the same illumination”
“it is eco friendly and the good thing about this is that it has a five years warranty and we are ready to compensate on it if we do not keep our promises to the consumers”
He assured that if any consumer buys any form of solutions from them they were sure that  they could get him a solar bulb as an additional perk to go with the bouquet.
He also pointed out that there 36 watts panel light currently powers the entire  22 storey building of the Nigerian Stock Exchange aside from supplying a similar product called Retrofix at the University of Lagos,Nigeria’s Senate building which is about 11 storey building.
He explained that they call it Retrofix because the brand normally uses two tiny poles to connect it to the cemented ceiling and it is then suspended because there was no P.O.P. ceiling.
Array of solar powered gadgets like deep freezer, fan ,giant bathroom water heater, school bags, tricycles, computers of various shades among others were spotted being marketed and even sold by the exhibitors as they used the exhibition to interface with their customers
